P. Diddy desperately reached out to Cassie, the actress testified.

P. Diddy's trial is in full swing as the rap mogul is facing charges of sex trafficking, abuse, and multiple other illegal activities and is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. On Day 3 of the trial, his ex-girlfriend and one of his victims, Casandra Ventura, testified regarding the atrocities she faced at his hands during the course of her relationship.
Ventura is one of the key witnesses for the prosecution, as she took the stand and detailed the abuse she faced during the 11 months that they were together. The alleged abuse took place in 2016, as evidenced by a viral hotel CCTV video clip showing the rapper beating his then-girlfriend and dragging her back to their room at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, California. Ventura had also filed a civil suit against him in 2023 for rape, sexual assault, and battery, and it was settled for 20 million dollars.
While testifying, Cassie also talked about how he raped her in 2018 after she tried to break up with him while out on a dinner together. He later followed her back to her apartment and raped her,
"I went inside, he came in and raped me on the living room floor. I just remember crying and saying 'no,' but it was very fast. His eyes were black, he wasn’t himself."
These were just one of the few incidents the singer talked about during the course of their abusive relationship. Cassie, who is eight months pregnant, further talked about the 2016 incident, stating that after the assault, Diddy texted her “the cops are here,” and begged her to call him back, according to PEOPLE. The texts were frantic, though Cassie didn't quite believe the police were actually there. Ventura did text him back, saying,
“You are sick for doing what you have done. Stay away from me."
P Diddy's Trial and Legal Team
According to prosecutors with the Southern District of New York, Combs
“used the business empire he controlled to sexually abuse and exploit women, as well as to commit other acts of violence and obstruction of justice.”
The trial, which is said to last eight weeks according to the prosecution, has 4 witnesses willing to testify, as Combs has pleaded not guilty to all the charges. He has also not spared any qualms in collecting top-tier lawyers to make up his legal team of defense, including Teny Geragos, Marc Agnifilo, recent addition Brian Steel, and more.
