MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, does not agree that YouTube has lost its value. He believes creators should use all platforms. But he clearly says YouTube is still the strongest for building real communities and long-term success
Many content creators today use more than one platform. Some focus on TikTok. Others choose Instagram. Many still rely on YouTube. Each platform offers different tools and different audiences. This has led to ongoing debate about which platform is best for building a creator career.
Some people believe YouTube is now too crowded. They feel it is hard for new creators to grow. Many short-form platforms now offer quick views and fast fame. TikTok, especially, helps creators reach large audiences in a short time.
MrBeast said, "YouTube builds stronger communities."

MrBeast believes that YouTube helps creators form deeper connections with viewers. He explained this at the 2025 Dealbook Summit. He said creators should post on every platform. But he added that YouTube works best for building loyal fans.
He said, “If you’re trying to reach as many people as possible, you should be on all of them because there is a certain fragmented audience on them. At the end of the day, if you’re trying to actually build a community or get it where a lot of people care about you, YouTube is 100% it.”
This shows he sees YouTube as the place where viewers truly connect to creators.
He also compared how people watch content on TikTok and YouTube.
He said, “If you spend an hour flipping through TikTok, you’ll watch 200 TikToks and then if you quiz someone on what they saw, they can’t even remember.”
This suggests TikTok content is easy to forget. It moves too fast for deep engagement.
MrBeast also talked about real-world fan support.
He said, “People with ridiculous views and millions of followers will do a meet and greet and can’t even get five people to show up because there is a big difference between someone consuming a five-second TikTok versus sitting down and watching a 20-minute YouTube video and getting to know you.”
This highlights his belief that longer videos help viewers form stronger bonds with creators.
YouTube is better for long-term business growth

MrBeast also believes YouTube is better for creators who want to build a business. He said YouTube offers better ways to earn a steady income. Long videos, ads, sponsorships, and memberships give creators more control.
He said YouTube is still “infinitely more dominant” for creators who want to turn their success into a business. This shows he believes YouTube offers better long-term stability than short-form platforms.
TikTok videos often go viral fast. But income from those videos is not always stable. Many creators struggle to turn viral fame into long-term earnings. YouTube allows creators to plan content and grow their channels over time.
Still, MrBeast does not ignore short-form platforms. He said there is a group of people who only use those apps.
He explained, “If you don’t make content on that platform, you essentially don’t exist in their world.”
This means creators cannot depend only on YouTube if they want full reach.
He ended by saying creators should stay active everywhere.
He added, “So, it’s important that you’re on all of them.”
This shows he supports multi-platform growth, even though YouTube remains his top choice.
