The ongoing trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs has been going through certain developments and revelations from testifiers. According to Judge Arun Subramaniam, the trial is likely to finish by July 4, 2025.

On June 17, 2025, People Magazine published an exclusive report, confirming that Combs will not take the stand in his trial. Previously, defense attorney Marc Agnifilo said he kept the hip-hop mogul from testifying. According to Agnifilo:

“I don’t know that I could keep him off the stand. He is very eager to tell his story.”

Meanwhile, former record executive Suge Knight shared his thoughts about the trial from prison. He believed that the only way Combs could start to make things right was by testifying in court. He felt Combs needed to be honest, face the people involved, and admit to his actions.

The magazine noted comments from legal experts who claimed testifying could put Diddy in the position of cross-examination. It could be a risky position as whatever he says could be used against him.

Concerning the time to present their case, Agnifilo stated that the defense would require less than five days for the same. Elsewhere during the trial, Diddy faced warnings from Subramaniam for allegedly making facial expressions in front of the jurors in the courtroom.

In another instance, one of the jurors in the trial was replaced for giving contradictory answers about his residence. The deliberations from the jury members could start any time next week once both the prosecution and defense finish their presentations.

Looking back at Marc Agnifilo’s statement following Diddy’s arrest in 2024

After Diddy was arrested in September 2024, Marc Agnifilo said in a press conference that Combs was a fighter and he would be resilient till the end of the case. Calling him innocent, Agnifilo said Combs was not afraid of the charges and would clear his name. Speaking of the accusations, the defense lawyer said:

“We believe in him wholeheartedly. He didn't do these things. This was a 10-year relationship. There's no coercion. There's no crime. There is basically just, you know, someone who brought a civil case and now is finding themselves as a witness in a criminal case.”

He went on:

“We're going to fight this case with everything we have as is he and eventually he's going to be shown to be innocent. And so tomorrow, we fight again, and we fight. We'll fight every day until we don't have to fight anymore.”

Marc Agnifilo explained that Diddy had traveled to New York to surrender, but the government chose to arrest him instead. He questioned why they would do that if Diddy was willing to turn himself in, suggesting it was done so they could request that he be held in custody. Agnifilo said they planned to raise these points in court.

A male escort, who recently testified in Diddy’s trial, spoke to CNN’s Laura Coates. He shared that the experience had been overwhelming. He said there had been constant attention from the media and unexpected messages from old friends and classmates checking in.

The male escort described the week as intense. Although he had felt confident before entering the courtroom, he was hit with anxiety once inside, saying the tension and seriousness of the moment were far more intense than he had imagined.
