Media personality Piers Morgan appears to have responded to an engraved message on bullet casings linked to Tyler Robinson, the suspect in Charlie Kirk’s killing. Kirk was shot and killed on September 10 during a debate event at Utah Valley University. According to NBC, the suspect left behind some bullet casings with messages engraved on them. One of these read, "Hey fascist! Catch!"
On September 12, after authorities confirmed the arrest of the suspect in Kirk's assassination, Piers Morgan shared his reaction on X. While sharing a mug shot of Tyler Robinson, Morgan wrote:
"Charlie Kirk’s assassin Tyler Robinson, 22, killed him because he hated his opinions and thought he was a fascist. Yet ironically, HE was the fascist, killing someone to silence their opposing views. The woke left love to say ‘speech is violent.’ It’s not - violence is."
Piers Morgan slammed people "celebrating" Charlie Kirk's murder
Following Kirk's death on September 10, Piers Morgan responded to an X post about people allegedly "celebrating" the death of the conservative activist. Morgan called it "disgusting." On September 12, Piers Morgan again took to his X account and criticized such individuals.
"I’m so shocked by the huge quantity of social media posts and clips of woke left fanatics gleefully celebrating Charlie Kirk’s murder. It’s so brazen, so dehumanised, so disgusting. What the f*ck is wrong with these people? Elon Musk is right - wokeism is an insidious virus," Morgan addded.
Earlier in his Wednesday post on X, he expressed his condolences and called the attack an "assault on free speech and democracy." Piers Morgan discussed the assassination of Turning Point USA's founder in his latest podcast streamed on Friday.
What did authorities reveal about Tyler Robinson, the murder suspect of Charlie Kirk?
A day after the killing, the FBI Salt Lake City released footage showing a suspect fleeing the scene and also shared his pictures. The authorities asked for the public's help to identify the suspect. On Friday morning, the FBI and Utah officials announced that the suspect in Charlie Kirk’s killing had been captured and identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.
Reports suggest Tyler Robinson was turned in by a family member. Officials stated he acted alone and found no connections to other suspects.
Authorities shared details of engraved messages on bullet casings
Utah Governor Spencer Cox, who held a news conference, shared that investigators found a rifle, believed to be the murder weapon, near the school. As per NBC, the Governor said that investigators reviewed a few Discord messages that indicated Robinson engraved bullet casings.
The fired bullet casing read:
"notices, bulges, OWO, what's this?"
One of the unfired bullet casings had "bella ciao" written on it; another one read "Hey fascist! Catch!" and had some arrows engraved on it. The third unfired bullet read:
"If you read this, you are gay LMAO."
