Twitch has announced that streamers will soon be able to broadcast live directly from their point of view using Meta's latest Ray-Ban smart glasses. The hands-free streaming feature was revealed during TwitchCon 2025's opening keynote in San Diego. Netizens reacted, saying:

"So basically no personal space left for anyone now? 👀 Everything we see, say, or do is about to go live"

The announcement came during the 10th annual TwitchCon. It was held in San Diego this October. CEO Dan Clancy said:

"As we head into 2025, our goal continues to be to make Twitch the absolute best place for our streamers, and also, an exciting place for new creators and viewers to build and find their communities. We will continue to focus on expanding our user base and introducing more people to livestreaming, as well as the critical and important work of supporting those who have already found a home here."

Netizens' reactions to Twitch announcing hands-free POV streaming with Meta Ray-Ban glasses

Pop Crave took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to share that,

"Twitch announces upcoming feature with Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses letting creators live stream hands-free from their point of view."

Netizens did not wait long before jumping into the comment section of the X post to share their thoughts about the upcoming Twitch feature. Below are some of their reactions:

"wild, so twitch would be literally 'see life through a streamer’s eyes', time for more chaos in case of a streamer going to the washroom with the music on", noted an X user.
"This partnership will allow for hands-free, point-of-view (POV) streaming for the first time natively on the platform. Key details of the new feature: •Direct-from-glasses streaming:Creators will be able to broadcast live, hands-free, directly from their Ray-Ban Meta glasses. Previously, streaming from the smart glasses to platforms like Twitch required a complicated screen-mirroring process involving a phone and a computer. •Mobile app integration: The new functionality is being built using Meta's Wearable Device Access Toolkit. The mobile app will be updated in the "next few months" to support streaming directly from the glasses. •Expansion for IRL creators: The integration is expected to be a major boost for "in-real-life" (IRL) streamers, who can now capture spontaneous moments without needing a phone rig or other equipment. •Third-party support: Other streaming software developers, including Streamlabs and UnlimitedIRL, are also working to integrate the smart glasses into their apps. •Dual-format support: The announcement coincided with the launch of "Dual-Format Streaming", which allows creators to stream in both horizontal and vertical formats simultaneously. This is intended to give viewers a great mobile viewing experience, especially with the hands-free content from smart glasses.", detailed another.
"This is a great chance for IRL streaming! Watching a creator's POV hands-free will be a game-changer for engagement. Super curious to see how Ray-Ban Meta glasses handle it.", shared a third.

Others also chimed in:

"Hands free streaming is here! The collab means creators can now go live straight from their POV is next level immersion for viewers. Imagine seeing the world exactly through your favorite streamer’s eyes", commented a netizen.
"Exciting innovations like this shift the broadcasting landscape. What could be next in creator tech? 🤔", asked another.
"Cant wait to see the chaos this brings", expressed a third.
