Britney Spears, in her recent Instagram post, talked about the family ties. Speaking on it, she said:

"Honor thy mother and father, but always protect your heart. Only honor them if they have sacredly honored you !!! If not, you find a new family 🤷‍♀️😂😹"

The comment was seen as both empowering and controversial, with her encouraging others to set personal boundaries while questioning the usual idea of unconditional respect for parents.

However, Britney didn’t mention anyone specifically, making it unclear if she was referring to a particular person or speaking in general about family relationships.

The Instagram post was originally about her love for the ocean and her curiosity about it. The caption read:

"The ocean will always remain a mystery to us all, and the secrets that are left to find !!! There is so much we still don’t know or have yet to discover, that’s how vast and beautiful Mother Nature is!!! Useless information to some, but I am actually very interested!!!"

Further mentioning Santa Claus in the caption, she wrote:

"The unknown and undiscovered all comes with imagination, really. Was it manifested? Or is it real? Even Santa Claus... is he fake or real boys and girls ??? 🌹🌹🌹"

Britney Spears, daughter of Lynne and Jamie Spears, shared the post hours after an excerpt from Kevin Federline’s memoir, You Thought You Knew, discussing Britney, was released.

Britney Spears's reps reply to Kevin Federline's statement

Talking about Britney in the memoir, You Thought You Knew, Kevin reportedly said, as reported by The New York Times:

"They would awaken sometimes at night to find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep— ‘Oh, you’re awake’ —with a knife in her hand. Then she’d turn around and pad off without explanation."

Britney married Kevin in 2004, and the couple was together for three years until their divorce. They also share two sons together, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline.

Replying to Federline, the Criminal singer's rep said in a statement, per E! Online:

"With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin. All she cares about are her kids and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir."

Speaking about Britney Spears in another statement, as reported by The New York Times, Kevin said:

"It was one of the hardest nights of my life. I felt sick over what she was going through. This was someone I had loved. Someone I had built a life with. The mother of my children."

Kevin Federline’s memoir, “You Thought You Knew,” is scheduled to be released on October 21.
