Osbourne family silent following Ozzy's death at 76, report says they are "devastated"

The Osbourne family broke the news of Ozzy's death on July 22, 2025, on Instagram. The announcement was signed by his wife, Sharon, their three children, and his son Louis. The announcement was made from Ozzy's official Instagram account. It reads:

"It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."

It has been seven days since his passing, and a close source to the family revealed that the Osbournes are taking the loss of the singer hard. Even though the late Black Sabbath lead singer has been battling health issues for years, his sudden passing is difficult for the family to accept.

In an exclusive with Parade, an insider source revealed how the family is coping with the loss of Ozzy. They said:

"The family hasn't been responsive to calls or texts, even from those closest to them since Ozzy's death. They are so devastated by his loss and taking it hard."

Kelly Osbourne shared Ozzy's last video on Instagram before he passed away

Kelly Osbourne, who is Ozzy and Sharon's second child, took to Instagram to post what is believed to be the last video footage of the singer right before he passed away. On July 20, Kelly captured a video of Ozzy with her son Sidney. Her father was in the kitchen, relaxing, while sipping on his tea.

Kelly was panning around the room with the camera and asked her father to wish her followers a "good morning". After a brief second, Ozzy complied and went back to his iPad. The late singer had headphones over his ears.

A faint cough could be heard from Ozzy, but he seemed to be doing well in the video.


Fans want Birmingham Airport renamed after Ozzy

Ozzy's death has left a deep void in the world of music, and his fans are still in mourning. Hundreds and thousands of videos and comments are still pouring in from his fans. Recently, a petition started by Dan Hudson to rename Birmingham Airport as Ozzy Osbourne International has been making rounds on the internet.

Ozzy's official Instagram account also shared a video of the petition on their story. At the time of writing, the petition has received 46,203 verified signatures and counting.


While Ozzy's family is choosing to grieve in private, fans around the world, and especially in Birmingham. Fans are finding other ways to honor the late "Prince of Darkness".
