President Donald has been vocal about the brutal killing of long-time supporter Charlie Kirk. Recently, the US president answered some press questions about his thoughts on the incident. When asked if he was worried about his safety, Donald Trump responded that he was concerned about the country.
“Not really. I'm really concerned for our country. We have a great country. We have a radical left group of lunatics out there, just absolute lunatics. And we're going to get that problem solved. I'm only concerned about the country.”
Donald Trump also confirmed that he has spoken to Charlie’s bereaved family, and they were “devastated.”
“I spoke to Erika, his wife, and we had a long talk, and she is devastated. She is absolutely devastated, as you can imagine.”
He called the people who justify the late political activist’s murder terrible and claimed they should be ashamed of themselves. When asked if he believed the killer was a trained assassin, Trump called the unknown killer an animal.
“I think progress is being made. He’s an animal, total animal. And hopefully they'll have him and they'll get him. What he did was disgraceful. Charlie Kirk was a great person, a great man. Great in every way, especially with youth. And what he did, what this man did, was disgraceful. So hopefully, we'll have him, and we will deal with him very appropriately.”
President Donald Trump confirmed Charlie Kirk’s passing
Charlie Kirk was murdered at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025, during his first stop on Turning Point’s “American Comeback Tour.” According to reports, the political activist and author was seated on his famous “prove me wrong” table when he was shot about 20 minutes into the presentation he was giving to the students.
President Donald Trump confirmed his death on his official Truth Social.
“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us,” the president added. “Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife, Erika and family. Charlie, we love you!”
Former President Barack Obama also wrote on social media:
“We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their two young children.”
Several notable individuals, including Jimmy Kimmel, Arnold Schwarzenegger, former Vice President Kamala Harris, former President Joe Biden, and Chris Pratt, have sent their condolences to Charlie's family.
