Prince Harry and Meghan reportedly "frustrated" after private royal aide meeting is leaked to press

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have shown their reaction after photographs of Tobyn Andreae, Liam Maguire, and the communications chief, Meredith Maines, from a private meeting were leaked online. Tobyn Andreae is a senior aide to King Charles, while Liam Maguire handles Harry and Meghan’s public relations in the UK.

The event reportedly took place on Wednesday in a private members' club in London. It’s still unclear who took the first step to arrange the meeting. The details of the event, including the venue and timing, were shared by The Mail even before the meeting took place.

After the details were shared, the paparazzi were seen outside the venue, taking photographs of the three and sharing them online.

While some believed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were the ones who shared details of the private meeting with the media, the couple has rejected those claims, saying they had no involvement in the leak.

As per the Daily Mail, Harry and Meghan are reportedly frustrated that photos and details of the meeting were shared with the media.

According to The Telegraph, sources close to Prince Harry said that seeing the meeting details leaked in the news was not the best way for them to start the calm and private phase they were looking forward to.

Sources share details of a private royal aide meeting involving Prince Harry and King Charles

The Daily Mail released a source's statement on July 13 that read:

"There's a long road ahead, but a channel of communication is now open for the first time in years. There was no formal agenda, just casual drinks. There were things both sides wanted to talk about."

In the photos, Tobyn Andreae and Meredith Maines were seen talking to each other. Meredith Maines and Liam Maguire reportedly arrived at the meeting in a cab. However, it’s still not known who shared the details of the meeting with the press.

While Prince Harry has shown his frustration over the leak, Buckingham Palace has not released any statement as of now. Additionally, Tobyn Andreae, King’s communications secretary, has also not commented on the same. Royal experts believe Prince William was likely informed about the meeting, as it probably wouldn’t have happened without his consent.

According to a source reported by The Telegraph, the meeting was

"first step towards reconciliation between Harry and his father, but at least it is a step in the right direction’"

The conflict between Harry and King Charles started when Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal roles and moved to the U.S. in 2020.
