As per a recent statement from R. Kelly’s attorney, Beau Brindley, the singer’s safety is at risk. Additionally, he has also requested Kelly's removal from federal custody to home detention.

R. Kelly, whose full name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, was sentenced to thirty years in prison by United States District Judge Ann M. Donnelly in 2022. As per U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Kelly is charged with:

"Racketeering predicated on criminal conduct including sexual exploitation of children, forced labor and Mann Act violations involving the coercion and transportation of women and girls in interstate commerce to engage in illegal sexual activity."

However, on June 10, Kelly’s attorney filed a motion alleging that three officials from the Bureau of Prisons were involved in a plan to have the singer allegedly killed by a fellow inmate. The motion states:

"The facts underlying this motion are as stunning as is the remedy that must be sought: the release of a convicted inmate whose life is threatened by the very persons charged with protecting it".

The motion suggests that a prison official moved Mikeal Glenn Stine to R. Kelly’s prison and ordered him to carry out the singer’s murder. He is a member of the Aryan Brotherhood gang.

According to Kelly’s attorney, this was done because:

"High-priced lawyers were going to expose damaging information that would harm high ranking B.O.P. officers and other officials."

Mikeal Glenn Stine gives statements in R. Kelly's filing

Mikeal Glenn Stine has a long criminal record and has filed over a hundred court cases, including cases of assault and murder. As per Mikeal Glenn Stine's statement, he has been a part of the Aryan Brotherhood for a long time now. He reportedly held a top position in the group at one point, which he says gave him the power to order violent crimes by other members.

The legal filing, along with the request to release Kelly from prison, also includes a written statement from Stine. In the statement, he reportedly admitted that he was asked to murder Kelly when he was in prison.

As per Mikeal Glenn Stine's statement, he was told he could run away and spend the rest of his life outside prison if he successfully followed the plan that led to R. Kelly's death.

While Stine was ready to follow the plan, he eventually gave up on the idea and informed Kelly about the complete situation and the plot that was being made against him. In the filing, he also showed his willingness to take a lie detector test to prove that he is not lying or making it up. As per the filing's statement:

"The threat to Mr. Kelly’s life continues each day that no action is taken. More A.B. members are accumulating at his facility. More than one has already been approached about carrying out his murder. One of them will surely do what Mr. Stine has not, thereby burying the truth about what happened in this case along with Robert Kelly."

As of now, the court has not made any decision on the motion filed by R. Kelly’s attorney, Beau Brindley.
