Amanda Seyfried has doubled down on her description of killed conservative influencer Charlie Kirk as "hateful." In a new interview published by Who What Wear on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, the actor stood by her previous remarks and stated she had no intention of apologizing for them.
Amanda Seyfried shared:
"I am not f**king apologizing for that. I mean, for f**k's sake, I commented on one thing. I said something that was based on actual reality and actual footage and actual quotes. What I said was pretty damn factual, and I am free to have an opinion, of course. Thank God for Instagram. I was able to give some clarity, and it was about getting my voice back because I felt like it had been stolen and recontextualized, which is what people do, of course."
Following Charlie Kirk's assassination in September 2025, Amanda Seyfried made an Instagram post on September 17, 2025, stating:
"We're forgetting the nuance of humanity. I can get angry about misogyny and racist rhetoric and ALSO very much agree that Charlie Kirk's murder was absolutely disturbing and imaginable. No one should have to experience this level of violence. This country is grieving too many senseless and violent deaths and shootings. Can we agree on that at least?"
She captioned:
"I don't want to add fuel to a fire. I just want to be able to give clarity to something so irresponsibly (but understandably) taken out of context. Spirited discourse- isn’t that what we should be having?"
Amanda Seyfried's recent comments while defending her previous stance on Charlie Kirk have sparked multiple notable reactions across social media. One such comment read:
"She is the one spewing hate."
Netizens' reactions to Amanda Seyfried defending calling Charlie Kirk "hateful" in a new interview
Pop Crave took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to post that,
"Amanda Seyfried tells @WhoWhatWear she won’t apologize for calling Charlie Kirk "hateful": "I mean, for f**k’s sake, I commented on one thing. I said something that was based on actual reality and actual footage and actual quotes.""
Netizens soon gathered under the comments of the X post as they penned their views on the matter and Amanda Seyfried's stance. Below are some of their reactions:
"They keep saying this but cant even show 1. Everything he's said is online and in context. What is she on about?", questioned an X user.
"Fax. Charlie Kirk said so many horrible things about others. Can't believe people with his ideas and motivations have followers. Someone with so much hate and racism in their heart. Gross human. Didn't deserve murder, but by no means was what he said about anything okay.", commented another.
"I love how this whole situation has just exposed MAGA as being the real snowflakes. They’re so confident in their boy's reputation that they have to make everyone say positive things about him 😂", stated a third.
Others also chimed in:
"She was right. They just say the quotes were out of context when no they really were not. Charlie was a hateful spiteful little man and it is horrible that they are trying to martyr him.", penned a netizen.
"What I always appreciated about CK was how he would engage with these young college kids. Going into some of the most liberal schools in the country and seeing the back and forth. Showing that you can have a conversation and not just scream at each other. I hope it will continue.", shared another.
"I agree with Amanda Seyfried. She did not condone his death but stated facts about thing he said. People can't force other people to heroworshii someone who was outright hateful. If people want to that their choice ans that’s ok. If people think he was a hateful man that is ok.", commented a third.
Charlie Kirk's death occurred during his "American Comeback Tour." On September 10, 2025, during a "Prove Me Wrong" event at Utah Valley University, Kirk was assassinated. He was 31.
