Internet users have reacted to FunnyMike’s response to Popeyes using his image to promote their new “Streamer Meals.” According to the internet personality, he had no idea about the campaign until it went live.
In a recent post, the influencer announced that he would hold Popeyes accountable for its actions.
@FearedBuck on X shared FunnyMike’s latest post on the Popeyes campaign with the caption:
“FunnyMike announces he’s exploring options to hold Popeyes accountable after they allegedly used his and other Streamers' images without permission for their "Streamer Meals" campaign.”
The post quickly garnered several reactions as netizens took to the comments section to express their opinions on FunnyMike’s response. @ICEXRP commented:
“That's a wild story.”
Similar comments echoed this sentiment as netizens rebuked Popeyes’ action. @BilginSafu28134 commented:
“Wow, that’s wild. Popeyes should’ve at least reached out first. @MichaelSmithX9 had a similar issue last year, right? Companies gotta learn to respect creators’ rights.”
“If true, that’s not marketing that’s misuse. Creators’ likeness needs consent, credit, and compensation. Hope Popeyes addresses it fast with a public fix and a make-good,”
@teg_147 wrote about the marketing and misuse of images. @Ashlley_grace_ added:
“some heat! Using streamers’ images without permission is a serious move—no wonder he’s looking into holding Popeyes accountable. Definitely a “finger-lickin’ lawsuit” in the making.”
Other netizens questioned FunnyMike’s awareness of the situation, claiming he was complicit and his contract with Streamer Prom covered it. @johnnywonney tweeted:
“Either he was in on it and knowingly used their likeness without their permission for more money, or he wasn’t paying attention to the deal Popeyes offered and got absolutely finessed at the expense of his friends likeness.”
“Nah we all know bro was in on this, he’s just tryna save his ass,”
@lIIllIIIlllllII stated. @suayrez also added:
“Bros signed a 360 to coulda been records and didn’t even know it.”
More details on FunnyMike and Popeyes controversy
On August 12, 2025, Popeyes unveiled its latest marketing campaign featuring meal combinations based on popular streamers, including FunnyMike, Cinna, FaZe, and Agent 100. However, the streamers featured in the campaign announced that they weren’t aware of it.
Cinna wrote on X:
“Bro people are going to Popeyes and trying to order this and dming confused please help LMAOOOOO @Popeyes. some guy also just told me in the airport congrates on the collab meal he was gonna order it LMAOOOOOOO I FEEL SO BAD AWWWWWW.”
Funny Mike also wrote:
“I partnered with Popeyes for Streamer Prom because they helped level the whole event up. Our deal was only for the prom & related content. I wasn't aware of the Popeyes "Streamer Meals" post until it was live. To be clear, I'm not involved with or benefiting from this in any way.”
Following his initial statement, the YouTuber released another message addressing the issue. He expressed his disappointment in the brand and his intention to hold them accountable for their actions.
“I’m disappointed, and honestly surprised, that Popeyes hasn’t clarified their confusing Streamer Meals campaign to the public or to the creators impacted. Streamer Prom was meant to celebrate our community, not be used to push a separate Popeyes campaign.”
“Because of their silence, I’ll be looking into ways to hold them accountable for the damage caused. Both to the creators whose images were used without proper approval, and to my own reputation.”
