Tim McGraw, the singer and actor, best known for his singles including Just to See You Smile and Live Like You Were Dying, has canceled his scheduled concert in Fort Collins, Colorado, on July 21, part of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Last Cowboy Standing event.

He did it because he is currently recovering from recent back surgery. Since he is in the midst of recovery, performing at an event is unsafe. PBR had announced that the rock band Cross Canadian Ragweed will fill in for McGraw and perform as the headliner for the event.

Recently, McGraw had headlined the Music City Rodeo concert in Nashville on June 1, 2025, marking his first concert after a year of health struggles.

More about Tim McGraw's health struggles

On June 24, 2025, PBR announced on their Instagram handle that Cross Canadian Ragweed will be filling in for McGraw. This is what the statement read:

"Cross Canadian Ragweed will step in for Tim McGraw as he recovers from back surgery to open the Last Cowboy Standing Show on July 21 in Fort Collins — and we couldn't be more thrilled."

The statement continues:

"The band is back together and ready to bring the house down in an unforgettable night of world-class music and the greatest bull riding on earth. You won't want to miss it. We're sending our very best to Tim for a quick recovery and hope to see him at a future PBR event."

As per the statement, the ticket holders can also get a refund by contacting the Rams Ticket Office. Back in May 2025, McGraw appeared on Tracy Lawrence’s TL's Road House podcast, where he shared about his health struggles, as per People. He said:

''I can tell you that after double knee replacements and three back surgeries and now a torn rotator cuff and a ruptured disc, all the things that are going on, there were times this year that I thought this might be it. This might be time to hang it up.''

He then shared about how he approached his workouts. Describing which, he said:

"I can't move quickly, there's no turning real quick to do something. Everything has to be very intentional; everything that I do has to be very methodical. I have to do cold plunges, I have to do infrared saunas. I have to do massages."

In August 2023, McGraw released his sixteenth studio album, Standing Room Only. The lead single of the album, also titled Standing Room Only, was released in March 2023 and had reached number 2 on the U.S. Country Airplay chart. He also starred in the television series Yellowstone and 1883.
