Lilly Tino, the transgender influencer and TikTok content creator, well-known for her transition, discussing trans issues, and often posting controversial content online, announced that she was stepping away from social media on July 3, 2025.

Her exit from social media comes after she faced a massive backlash and trolls after she posted videos on 'bathroom reviews' in which she filmed inside women’s restrooms at Walt Disney World. Those videos included her commentary and selfies that allegedly included other guests and children without consent.

This act of the trans influencer had caused widespread outrage, and she posted a video on July 3, announcing her exit from social media.

More about Lilly Tino's recent controversy

Lilly posted a series of videos on TikTok where she assessed the cleanliness of the women’s restrooms at Disney World. These videos received backlash from netizens and critics, citing privacy concerns and calling her act exploitative. In the following days after she posted the video, there were petitions calling for her to be banned from Disney properties.

Furthermore, there were investigations launched by the Florida Attorney General's office to investigate whether Lilly violated state privacy laws by recording in the restrooms, which could be cited as a potential misdemeanor or felony. As per Deep Newz, Florida's Attorney General James Uthmeier opened a criminal investigation against her. Under Florida Statute 810.145, secretly recording in a restroom or private spaces carries potential penalties of up to 5 years in prison and a $5,000 fine is a felony. As per FlVoiceNews, this is what James said about his office's tolerance:

''Do not tolerate men or boys in women’s and girls restrooms, gyms, private spaces. No tolerance. We’re investigating this one.''

James also emphasized Florida's stance on 'two sexes—men and women.' He also pledged to 'protect our girls at all costs.'

Tino, who goes by the legal name Nicholas Sylvan Contino, then shared a video on social media expressing what she felt because of the public scrutiny. In the video, she said:

''I am deeply hurt because of the amount of hate that I’ve gotten over the past three years doing this... That hurt has influenced the way that I do things as a content creator.''

She then spoke about how her hurt has taken over her content. She said that she wouldn't change herself, but would work on how her content has been affected because of the hurt. She said:

''work on the way that my hurt has taken over my content in some ways.''

She did not give any timeline of when she would resume social media; she said she will be back, but doesn't know when. Lilly has faced multiple controversies prior to the Disney restroom backlash, and her content is often described as provocative or confrontational.
