In May 2025, social media platforms buzzed with rumors claiming Wendy Williams testified in a federal trial against Sean “Diddy” Combs. The claim quickly gained traction on platforms like Facebook, TikTok, and especially YouTube, where videos portraying the former talk show host as a key witness began circulating. These claims shocked fans and followers, leading to confusion and heated discussions online.

But further examination of the story reveals that it is false. There is no reported account from credible news sources or court proceedings proving that Wendy Williams was in court.

The source of the rumor is a video presentation found on one of the YouTube channels that deal with sensational and unsubstantiated rumors.

Wendy Williams and the Viral Video

The video, posted by the channel WhatIsMyStarWorth, featured dramatic narration and clips of Wendy Williams, suggesting she took the stand against Diddy.

The video included the line:

“In a shocking twist no one saw coming, Wendy Williams... has now taken the stand in federal court.”

However, this was entirely fictional. Crucially, the video’s description itself stated:

“This content is fictional and intended for entertainment purposes only. No verified court documents or official statements confirm these claims.”

Additionally, under a section titled "how this content was made," it admitted that

“Sound or visuals were significantly edited or digitally generated.”

According to Hive Moderation, a tool used to detect synthetic media, the voice-over in the clip was “99% likely AI-generated,” further confirming that the clip did not reflect real courtroom testimony.

The YouTube channel has also posted similar content about other celebrities allegedly involved in the case, much of which has been debunked. These videos often use AI-generated visuals and dramatic titles to attract views.

Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently facing serious federal charges, including racketeering, sex trafficking, and obstruction of justice. According to a grand jury indictment, Combs is accused of leading a criminal operation that engaged in a range of unlawful activities.

The trial is ongoing in a New York federal court, with multiple witnesses and pieces of evidence being reviewed. But no one has mentioned Wendy Williams as having been present in an official capacity. Inner City Press, a publication known for providing real-time courtroom coverage, has not mentioned her name in the news.

Despite how authentic the video seemed, Wendy Williams never stood in the witness box during Diddy's trial. The allegation was raised after an entertainment-based YouTube video was released, and it was indeed labeled as fiction and had highly edited, computer-generated content. There is no proof, to date, and there has been no official report officially connecting Williams to the trial.

This incident is a lesson to be cautious when handling viral claims, especially those involving sensitive legal matters and public figures. Always verify facts from trusted sources before believing them to be true or publishing them online.
