The drama between Iggy Azalea, Playboi Carti and DJ Akademiks began when Azalea appeared on a September 11, 2025, livestream with popular streamer N3on and made some controversial comments that many believe were directed at her ex, Carti.

DJ Akademiks responded to the rapper’s comments on Kick by stating that he respected Playboi Carti as a musician and didn’t care about drama between the former couple.

Azalea has responded to the online personality in a September 16, 2025, tweet. She stated that she didn't care about Carti's success and wasn't aiming for his downfall:

"I don't care at all who listens to the music, or if he's the most successful best-selling rapper ever. It has zero effect on my life. Truly. I'm not campaigning for anyone's demise."

She added;

"At the same time - I don't think it's a huge secret my experience involved a man who was violent & is (still) an addict. Just know if I ever tell it all... it'll be to a judge in court - not social media."

Azalea, who has a five-year-old son with Playboi, said during the stream with N3on that men had propositioned her on two different occasions to “lick their buttholes.” The Fancy hitmaker explained:

"They don’t ask with words, but there’s motions.”

She likened the requests to babies wanting their diapers changed before adding that “there was no need for a man to have his legs cocked-up like that.”

Iggy Azalea clarified that she had never followed up with such requests and added that she excused herself from one such encounter by going to the bathroom.

She shocked host N3on and viewers when she added that some of the men who had asked for the unusual request wanted the act to be recorded.

"Want to do it in front of the camera, usually, just know that,”

She didn’t want to name-drop some of the subjects, because according to her, doing so would cause would be shocking to the public. She jokingly referred to the men in her story as “ass eaters.” Speculations began online about who the rapper was referring to, with many believing she was referring to Playboi Carti.

DJ Akademiks commented on the situation in a Kick livestream, stating that he didn’t want to involve himself in any drama between Iggy Azalea and Carti. He added that Iggy Azalea had contacted him with “criminal details” about Carti that he believed should have been taken to the police instead of a blogger.

"You were trying to use me to get this man canceled," Akademiks said. "You told me very criminal things about him, you told me very evil things about him."
