According to Cyrus, that pairing brings a significant energy to their relationship. In one of her comments about Morando, she said:

Maxx Morando is mainly known in the indie and alternative music scene. He was born and raised in Los Angeles. He trained at the School of Rock in Hollywood, where he learned the drums, guitar, and piano.

His professional career began with Genessa. The band was formed with his close friends, and it later transitioned into The Regrettes. The group produced three successful studio albums between 2017 and 2022, including Feel Your Feelings Fool! and How Do You Love?.

After leaving The Regrettes in 2018, Morando co-founded the band Liily with friends Dylan Nash, Sam De La Torre, and Charlie Anastasis. Some of Liily's popular tracks include Sepulveda Basin, Early Boper, Boom Boom, and Odds Are It's Blue.

Morando also has an interest in fashion. In 2021, Miley Cyrus revealed in Vogue that one of her festival looks was collaboratively designed by Morando. She described the look as "a one-of-a-kind collaboration between two of my favorite emerging artists."
