For his YouTube channel, One Bite Pizza Reviews, Portnoy visits a different pizza place every day and swears by one rule: he takes only a single bite. According to the website, Portnoy has reviewed a whopping 1,042 restaurants and eateries and will stop after he has reviewed them all.

For his May 30 review of Pizzeria Rustico in Boston, Portnoy broke his long-time rule and went to re-review the pizza. He initially gave it a 6.7 rating and described it as "floppy." However, his review experience took a turn as he was about to leave the place. He was convinced by customers and people outside the pizzeria that the pizza wasn't ever like that, and he should try it again. Breaking his long-time rule, he re-reviewed a fresh pizza and bumped the original score to a "7.3/7.4."

In his first review, Dave Portnoy revealed that the pizza he was about to review "was sitting in the box for about 10 minutes." He expressed annoyance and noted that there was "no line integrity," so someone blatantly went ahead to ask the owner,

Portnoy revealed everyone was left confused by the customer's questions, which led to a delay. He took the first bite and noted,

"This guy is working so hard. I really want to give a good score."

As Portnoy prepared to leave, an observer reportedly gave the shop owner a "shoutout." Another customer came out of the pizzeria and noted that "it's usually not that bad." At the same time, another person who reportedly works at the falafel/ shawarma eatery next to the pizzeria reiterated that it isn't typically "a lot better." Following the conversations, Portnoy went to take another fresh pizza and bumped his score. Meanwhile, his security expressed disapproval and asked,

"Are you giving second chances now?"

Portnoy ended up going for "round 2" and showed that the slice was significantly less "floppier" than before.
