Who is Angelynn Mock? Former Fox 2 anchor reportedly accused of fatally stabbing her 80-year-old mother

Angelynn Mock is facing serious allegations after being accused of fatally stabbing her 80-year-old mother, Anita Avers. The incident took place on October 31. Avera was rushed to the hospital after being found with multiple stab wounds but did not make it.

According to a press release by the Wichita Police Department:

"At approximately 7:52 a.m. on Oct. 31, officers responded to a reported cutting at a residence in the 1500 block of East Crowley. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect outside the home. Inside the residence, officers found Anita Avers unresponsive in her bed with multiple stab wounds."

Neighbor of Mock, Alyssa Castro, told KAKE:

"There was a woman who approached our vehicle with like blood, like her hands were filled, her body was filled with blood, asking to call 911"

Mock remains in Sedgwick County Jail on a first-degree murder charge, with her bond set at one million dollars, People reported.

Who is Angelynn Mock?

Angelynn Mock reportedly worked with Fox 2, a St. Louis-based station, for nearly four years starting in 2011, according to the Daily Mail. She began her career as a sports reporter with KLKN-TV in 2002.

The forty-seven-year-old woman later turned her role at the outlet from part-time to full-time. However, after working with KLKN-TV for almost two years, Mock joined KAAL-TV, where she worked as a news and sports reporter.

The same year, she also joined KECI-TV as a weekend news anchor/reporter, as per her LinkedIn.

She has worked for KOKH FOX 25 and KTVI Fox 2 as a morning anchor. However, after leaving FOX 2 in 2015, she changed her line to sales. Talking about the same in her LinkedIn bio, she wrote:

"Veteran Broadcast Journalist with 12 years experience in television broadcasting. Transitioned into sales because of the many similarities the two positions encompass."

Angelynn Mock then joined CrossChx as a software sales account manager. Over the years, she has worked as an account executive and regional sales manager, with her most recent role being data management consultant at Imaging Office Systems, where she is currently working. She is a graduate of St. Cloud State University and has also volunteered in the past.

As for her mother, Anita Avers, she was a licensed clinical marriage and family therapist, as per Wichita Counseling Professionals' website.
