Who is David Pownall? All about TikTok star Becca Bloom’s husband amid Lake Como wedding

Rebecca C. Ma, famous by her social media name Becca Bloom, is officially married to her longtime partner David Pownall. The news was announced on her social media, where she uploaded a range of photos, giving fans a glimpse into her big day. The news was also covered on Vogue Weddings.

The wedding took place in Lake Como, Italy. For the big day, Becca Bloom wore Oscar de la Renta, while David appeared in Thom Browne.

David Pownall, a University of British Columbia graduate, previously worked as a software engineer at Google, according to Town & Country. He is presently working in software development at Amazon, the outlet reports.

However, David Pownall likes keeping a low profile and has stayed away from media attention, maintaining his privacy despite Becca’s public presence.

David Pownall first met Becca Bloom in 2019 at the Philz Coffee in Palo Alto. Speaking of the same, Becca told Vogue:

"I was home from college, and it was only David’s tenth day in the Bay Area after moving to the US from Vancouver. David asked if he could buy me a coffee, to which I responded, ‘I don’t drink coffee, only tea.’ Not exactly the flirtiest response, but somehow he rolled with it."

The couple got engaged in 2023 and married two years later. Speaking of the marriage and how it went, Becca wrote on Instagram:

"The wedding began with our first day in Lake Como. We wandered through the gardens of Villa Carlotta. It felt like the calm before everything began, I dressed in full bloom just as my name promised. That evening, we arrived at our rehearsal dinner by boat."

Continuing the statement, she wrote:

"Como has always been our summer escape, but this time was different. As we glided toward Villa Regina, it felt like every summer memory had been leading us here - carrying us to the threshold of something entirely new. For the night, I chose color instead of white. It felt celebratory, joyful, and exactly how I wanted to begin."

For their big day, the couple collaborated with Anastasia and Kristina from Iles Events, an event planning team in Italy. Becca also mentioned that the forecast had predicted rain, which her parents took as a good sign. Remembering the moment, she said:

"Both of our parents were married in rainstorms, and both have been happily married for over 35 years. We took it as a sign, even if it meant some of the florals, cocktails, and pre-planned activities had to be shifted indoors."
