Who is Dreka Gates? Kevin Gates’ wife ends marriage with divorce filing

Dreka Gates, entrepreneur and wife of American rapper Kevin Gates, has reportedly filed for divorce, citing 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for their separation, according to an exclusive by TMZ. The couple got married in 2015 after dating for twelve years, starting around 2003.

The couple shares two children, Islah (12) and Khaza (11). Along with being Kevin Gates's manager, Dreka Gates is the owner of a wellness brand, Dreka, where she sells skincare and eyewear, along with promoting wellness. As per her company page, the brand is created to:

"Provide pure, effective, and sustainable products that nourish your body, soothe your mind, and elevate your spirit."

Her YouTube page has over 200,000 subscribers and more than seven million views, with only 39 videos on her channel. The videos are mostly about her personal life, with behind-the-scenes clips, updates, and trips.

Dreka Gates shut down cheating allegations

In 2022, Kevin Gates released a song titled Super General, which hinted at cheating through the lyrics:

"Made the "Dreka" song, lied to the world while tryna protec' her image"

Another line read:

"Personal trainer invaded my personal place, deep down inside it killed me"

After this, the internet quickly suspected that Kevin was talking about Dreka Gates, his longtime partner. Many believed the lyrics meant she allegedly cheated on him with her personal trainer.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, in 2025, an Instagram user wrote on her profile:

"Why you did that to Kevin gates why you cheat with the personal training that he hired"

Dreka quickly shut down the rumors in an Instagram Story, reported by The Shade Room, saying the cheating claims were false.

"I HAVE to address this because it’s really gone a little too far and I don’t care for social media to continue to spread this misinformation. I have NEVER had any type of sexual or romantic encounters with my personal trainer or any ‘hired help’ and will NEVER."

The news of their divorce comes shortly after Brittany Renner shared photos from the Basketball Wives premiere, referring to Kevin Gates as her “husband". Talking to Los Angeles radio station Real 92.3 LA, Renner revealed:

"We got married April 6 and divorced May 28. But there is a 90-day waiting period in Islam to see if you’re pregnant, because then he would be responsible."

As per the divorce filing by Dreka, she is seeking joint physical and legal custody of their two children, along with spousal support. It has not been confirmed whether Kevin and Dreka Gates had a prenuptial agreement in place before their marriage.
