Fátima Bosch is a Mexican model and beauty queen who recently won the title of Miss Universe 2025. She was born in the town of Tabasco, Mexico, and did her schooling at Arjí School in Villahermosa. She decided to pursue her further studies at the Ibero-American University to study Clothing and Fashion Design. In addition to her degree, she has also completed her training at Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA) in Milan and the Lyndon Institute in Lyndon, Vermont, USA.

Before she won the title of Miss Universe 2025, she had competed and won a few beauty pageants. In 2018, she was crowned Flor de Oro of the 2018 Tabasco Fair. She also won the titles Miss Universe Tabasco in 2025, as well as Miss Universe Mexico in 2025, which allowed her to represent her country on the international stage.

Out of the 130 countries that competed in the Miss Universe 2025 beauty pageant, Fátima Bosch was crowned the winner. She matched the theme of the year, "The Power of Love," with her red glittering gown with gold details.

What was the backstage controversy concerning Fátima Bosch?

During the rehearsals, Fátima Bosch decided to walk out of the room after being disrespected by one of the executives from the pageant. Fátima had allegedly refused to participate in a photoshoot that was meant to be shared on the contestant's social media. She had denied the claims, but continued to be chided by the director.

According to Bosch, she was scolded by Nawat Itsaragrisil. In her words, he called her "dumb" and told her to "shut up."

The Miss Universe Organization president, Raul Rocha Cantu, also supported Miss Mexico and the contestants in this situation. He said:

"Unfortunately, Nawat has forgotten the true meaning of what it means to be a genuine host."

Another backstage controversy during the Miss Universe 2025 pageant was when judge Omar Harfouch, a member of the official Miss Universe selection committee, resigned. He shared his reasons on social media, saying that he found out another secret group of people was choosing 30 finalists instead of the real judges. He only learned about this group from social media, and that none of the actual eight judges were there.

He wrote on social media:

"The results of this selection are currently being kept secret."

Harfouch elaborated more about the unofficial judges. He said that it:

"composed of individuals with a significant potential conflict of interest due to some [personal] relationships with some of the Miss Universe contestants, including the person responsible for counting the votes and managing the results, which constitutes a further conflict of interest."

Despite the hurdles she faced during rehearsals and being involved in backstage controversies during her time on Miss Universe, Fátima Bosch proved triumphant in the end. She took home the title of Miss Universe 2025 in tears as she was being crowned.
