Who is Myke Wright? All about Lizzo's “extremely supportive” boyfriend

Myke Wright is singer Lizzo’s longtime friend turned boyfriend. Rumors about the couple’s relationship began swirling in 2021 after they were spotted having dinner at Crustacean, Beverly Hills. Lizzo seemingly confirmed dating the comedian/ musician when she appeared on Radio Andy in 2022.

Myke Wright is a multihyphenate artist who moved to Los Angeles in 2012 to begin stand-up comedy. He described his career as a comedian:

"There’s no better feeling than to smile out into a sea of thousands of people and see they’re all smiling back at you.”

When Wright isn’t onstage cracking people up, he is creating music. He released two Extended Plays, Kandia and Iman Utopia, in early 2020. He is also a designer for the EMLE luxury brand based in Detroit.

In a cover interview for Vulture magazine, Lizzo described Wright as an “extremely supportive” boyfriend:

"I’m really grateful to have someone who’s extremely supportive, who doesn’t ask for s--- from me, nor does he need s--- from me. He pours into me. He takes care of me."

Raised on Detroit’s west side by eclectic parents, he developed a passion for the arts. Myke Wright formed an all-black rock band called The Grey Level, consisting of himself and three best friends. He formed a hip-hop group, Phresh Heir, before attending Art College Myke. He spoke of his time in the bands during a Voyage LA interview:

"We didn’t feel like our music was black or white. Our music was a mix of everything we liked and had fun sharing with people. It was authentic, and people connected with it.”

Lizzo and Wright made their red carpet debut in June 2022 for the Amazon series Watch Out for the Big Grrls. In a November 2022 interview with Vanity Fair, the 37-year-old singer described Wright as the love of her life:

“People fight for monogamy like they pray to it every day. I am not a polyamorous person; I’m not in love with multiple partners. That is not me. He’s the love of my life. We are life mates."

Myke Wright has also dabbled in acting. He has appeared in movies like I Love You Forever, Cherry Bomb and Doubting Thomas. He is well-known for appearing on Adam Devine’s House Party and Laughs.
