Sergei Domogatskii is a Russian influencer who posts content from Indonesia. According to his bio, he states:

"Dari Russia dengan cinta. Saya melakukan kegiatan amal di Indonesia," which roughly translates to "From Russia with love. I carry out charity activities in Indonesia."

Sticking to his bio, the majority of his content shows him engaging in philanthropic or charitable activities in Indonesia. His videos include him helping people and supporting their communities. The message he is trying to convey to his viewers is generosity and gratitude.

Recently, Sergei Domogatskii was allegedly kidnapped, according to the statements he provided to the police. He was held by his kidnappers and abused. Keep reading to know more details about the incident.


What happened to Sergei Domogatskii?

According to the Jakarta Post, Sergei Domogatskii was kidnapped by a group of men. Bali Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Ariasandy told the news outlet that Sergei was taken while he was riding his motorcycle in Sanur Beach, which is a popular tourist spot. This incident happened around 10:30 p.m.

Ariasandy also told Kompas.com:

"Suddenly, an Alphard car stopped in front of him. Two men wearing black ski masks got out of the car and forced him inside."

Sergei told the police that he was taken inside a house, which was located in the Jimbaran area of South Kuta. While he was being held hostage, he was also beaten and tased by his kidnappers.

In addition to the physical torture, the kidnappers demanded that Domogatskii hand over his phone to them and transfer approximately $4,600 worth of cryptocurrency to their accounts.

This was not the end of the abductors' demands. They also told Sergei to give them a ransom of $1 million for his release. However, the Russian influencer told them that he could not pay such a hefty sum. Hours later, he revealed that his kidnappers released him at the Apurva Kempinski Hotel located in South Kuta.

Sergei sustained a few injuries to his right arm while they were beating him.

The Jakarta Post also mentioned that Sergei was being abducted by a group of men, which also included a fellow Russian. The crime rate and violent incidents have been increasing on the island, especially directed at foreigners.
