The YouTuber and streamer Kai Cenat and the Canadian rapper Drake are making rounds on the internet after their livestream, which was supposed to be on Thursday, June 12, 2025, got postponed.

This livestream was supposed to be for reviewing the submissions Kai and Drake received for the Somebody Loves Me music video. However, just hours before the livestream was supposed to begin, Kai announced on his social media that it would be postponed.

The reason behind the postponement is that they needed more time to review and finalize the fan-submitted video treatments for Drake’s song Somebody Loves Me.

Kai Cenat and Drake postpone their livestream

Kai Cenat, one of the most influential content creators, and the rapper and singer Drake have been all over social media. Cenat joined Drake in promoting the song Somebody Loves Me, which is a collaboration between Drake & PartyNextDoor’s album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U.

For context, Drake wanted to promote the song in a creative way, so he had asked fans to submit their video treatments, which are basically creative ideas or outlines for a possible official music video for the song. In a live stream that was supposed to happen on June 12, Drake and Cenat would review these video treatments.

However, hours before, Cenat announced the postponement of the livestream. He posted about it on his Instagram story and wrote:

''We need more time with the treatments for sombody who loves me. So we are pushing the stream back a few more days [fingers crossed emoji]. Apologies.''

In the livestream, Drake and Kai would first pick the best fan-submitted concepts and then pick 20 winners. Each of these winners would get a budget to turn their ideas into a music video. This interactive way of promoting the song would also allow fans to co-create with the rapper himself.

This livestream has been delayed a few times, as Cenat and Drake supposedly need more time to review and finalize the video treatments. As the news of the delay made it to social media, the frustration of fans grew, and some started drawing theories about the situation.

One of the theories is that postponing this livestream coincided with Kendrick Lamar’s Grand National Tour happening in Canada, which is Drake's hometown, and it's where he has a major fanbase. Fans are speculating that Drake didn't want to compete for attention; hence, the livestream has been postponed.

In a nutshell, fans believe that the livestream has been postponed on purpose. For now, fans are eagerly waiting for the announcement of the new date for the livestream and are also eager to know whose video treatments got selected and who will receive the budget for production.
