The defense and prosecution in the trial of Sean Diddy Combs have given their closing arguments. Marc Agnifilo, Combs’ lead defense lawyer, in his final statement to the court, described Cassie and the music executive’s relationship as not one bordering on fear and abuse but a swinger’s lifestyle.

The defense attorney, who reportedly paced back and forth as he spoke, mentioned actor Michael B Jordan in his closing arguments. Agnifilo used the actor’s alleged relationship with Cassie Ventura in 2015 to prove that the latter was a confident individual who wasn't sex trafficked.

Agnifilo described Ventura:

"God bless her. She's a beautiful, sexy person."

Before adding:

"She was with Michael B. Jordan, the most handsome man in the world."

Agnifilo tried to poke holes in the prosecution’s claims that the Bad Boy Label boss had run a criminal organization that trafficked, raped, kidnapped and abused women:

"For the government to call this a racketeering enterprise, Are you kidding me? That's the fake trial I'm telling you about."

He described Diddy’s trial as a “tale of two trials” and urged the jury not to listen to the other trial, which is the fake trial” but “listen to the real trial." He accused the prosecution of targeting a wealthy celebrity while arguing that the case was based on jealousy, love and money.

The prosecution stated that Sean Diddy Combs was trying to blame his victims for his actions

The prosecution’s rebuttal to the defense’s closing remarks was led by Assistant US Attorney Maurene Comey, who began by stating that:

"The defense just spent a whole lot of energy trying to blame his (Sean “Diddy” Combs’) victims and the US government for his lies, his threats and for his inexcusable behavior.”

Comey added that the trial was about how the music mogul never took no for an answer.

Comey emphasized that Cassie Ventura was a victim and didn't enjoy her relationship with Diddy, as suggested by the defense:

"Mr. Agnifolo suggested Cassie was the winner of a prize," Comey said. "Black eyes? A gash in her head? Getting urinated in her mouth? How could anyone think that's a prize? That's ridiculous."

Comey stated that Cassie and other women Diddy was involved with tried to run away, and that the money and other material benefits from the relationship were used to keep them trapped. The prosecution referred to an incident in June 2024 when Combs allegedly beat his ex, Jane, as a “clear-cut” example of sex trafficking.

The jury is expected to reconvene on June 30, 2025, to receive instructions from Judge Arun Subramanian.
