Popular streaming personality John “Tectone” Robertson announced an indefinite hiatus from livestreaming via a heartfelt post to X (formerly Twitter). The news comes amid a series of escalating controversies and emotional strain.
In his Aug. 30th post, Tectone admitted that he’s been wrestling with daily anger, confessing:
“Yeah guys I’ma be real. I’m gonna leave for a while. Not sure when I’ll be back tbh but my mind is clouded. I’m just angry everyday, I’m crashing out over nothing and I don’t want my resentment guiding me."
He further revealed that he spirals out of control over the smallest triggers.
"I see where I’m headed and I don’t like it at all. I’m saying things I don’t mean, I’m tilting out over the smallest things.”
Tectone, who’s known for his outspoken and often unfiltered on-air persona, addressed his mental state without shying away from self-awareness:
"The worst thing is, I still can’t even explain to you guys why I’m so angry and that’s what’s frustrating me the most because I value transparency over everything. I’m going to go on break, I hope not for too long. But no streams for a while."
He added that he intends to get his head straight as he waits for his comeback.
"This date that I have to keep waiting for is getting closer but everyday the wait is harder. I plan on making some YouTube videos just talking and tweeting every now and then but nothing too much."
In the wake of repeated suspensions from Twitch, which include a fifth ban tied to a controversial on-stream outburst, Tectone appears to be stepping back to avoid letting emotional turbulence steer his content.
"I need to get my head straight again. Appreciate yall, Bye for now."
Tectone faces yet another suspension from Twitch
Tectone's hiatus announcement follows his fifth Twitch suspension of the year, after he made disturbing remarks during a recent stream.
Twitch appears to have taken action following a clip in which the streamer seemingly threatened a viewer and used a slur while ranting about chat moderation and language usage.
His channel now shows a message indicating it’s temporarily unavailable due to a violation of the platform's Community Guidelines.
In the same broadcast, he took to X and attempted to downplay his behavior by drawing a questionable comparison with streamer HasanAbi:
"I am all for me getting banned (if it happens) for telling a chatter to kill themselves (I apologized it just really rolls off the tongue sometimes ngl) But can we also ban Hasan for saying Hila Klein is a valid military target Orrrr we just gonna ignore that?
HasanAbi reacted publicly, calling Tectone a “rapacious botter” and suggesting that he may have purposely bent the rules to get banned:
“Yeah. I think he’s trying to actively get banned from Twitch so that he doesn’t have to, like, live with the embarrassment."
Tectone's bans have gradually increased, with the latest likely being among the longest.
Channels suspended are labeled "temporarily unavailable," indicating they may return, but not for a while
