American YouTuber and Twitch streamer, Asmongold, had some strong feelings about DrLupo cheating in a PogChamps chess tournament. A few days ago, Benjamin Lupo a.k.a. DrLupo, a fellow YouTuber and Twitch streamer, participated in an online chess game called PogChamps. For those who are unaware of PogChamps, it is an online series hosted by Chess.com, where different online personalities are matched to compete against one another.

During a broadcast on May 1, 2025, Asmogold spoke out about how everyone knows Lupo was cheating while playing the online chess tournament. Initially, Lupo tried to deny the accusations, but after everyone was on his tail, he had to admit what he did. Lupo confessed:

"I deserve 100% of what people are saying. Using an engine to fix my own fragility is f**king pathetic."

Asmogold also had a few things to say about Benjamin Lupo's actions. Asmogold expressed:

"You didn’t own up to it. You got caught red-handed. You had your hand in the cookie jar. Everybody knew it was in the cookie jar. They got you in 4K."

How did people realize DrLupo was cheating in PogChamps?

Chess enthusiasts caught DrLupo cheating at PogChamps because of a rookie mistake. During the game, Lupo left his queen unprotected, but played the entire game really well. Those who realized this blunder called him out, but Lupo denied these accusations. However, the next day, he admitted that he was, in fact, using a chess engine to win the match.

Netizens and even fellow Twitch streamers were not happy with Lupo's actions. Asmogold was quite vocal about it, even suggesting that Twitch should ban him for cheating, since the Community Guidelines are against cheating in online games.

This is what the World of Warcraft streamer had to say:

"Should Twitch ban DrLupo for cheating in this tournament? Unequivocally, yes. There is no gray area on this topic, whatsoever... undeniably broke the rules of the website. There is no gray area in this. There is no 'maybe' in this. There is no possibility in this. There is no, 'Oh, but what about' — No. It is absolutely plain and simple, night and day, black and white, obvious that cheating should get you suspended on the website," Asmogold strongly states.

Regarding his actions, DrLupo has decided to own up to it and expresses his remorse by saying he will work on himself and try to improve as a content creator. As for Twitch banning him, there have been no updates on this front. But Lupo's offense is marked as "low-severity," which will expire off his account in 90 days.
