9-1-1 Season 9 Episode 6 recap: Chimney and Buck buckle up

The midseason finale of 9-1-1 Season 9 finally gave 118 their permanent captain. While Chimney was initially hesitant to accept the Captain's position, some good advice from Maddie worked its magic and Chimney was officially promoted as the 118's new Captain. He even had a ceremony where the 118 congratulated him with a beautiful watch engraved with “The 118 is not just a number. It’s us.”

Elsewhere, Buck mentored Harry for his firefighter interview. However, all their practice and drills were futile as Harry did not pass the test because of his criminal history. However, Buck could not let his first student fail and he took the matter into his own hands. He invited Harry for lunch at a fancy restaurant with the intention of 'accidentally' running into the fire chief. While his scheme was dangerous, it worked and Harry finally got a chance to fight for his career as a firefighter. The Chief asked Harry to report to the training center the next morning.

9-1-1 Season 9 Episode 6 recap: What's wrong with Hen?

The big story and cliffhanger for the 9-1-1 Season 9 mid-season finale was about Hen's hand tremors. The 118 gets their big call of the episode from a spa, where a woman had an allergic reaction to a drug given by one of the salesmen. The spa was certainly shady and the patient was flatlining but Hen was not ready to give up. Chimney finally decided to take the patient to a hospital, which is when Hen started having hand tremors.

While Hen ignored the 'salesman's' advice to help her, she was concerned about them. She calls her mother and cheekily asks about her family history, but gets no useful information. Moments after the call, when she stands up, she faints and falls on the floor. It is only after dark that she wakes up confused and in pain. While she does not inform Karen or her kids yet, she gets a chance to talk to Maddie (who was a former nurse) at Chimney's ceremony. When Hen tells Maddie about her 'patient', the former nurse suggests a CT scan.

The final moments of 9-1-1 Season 9 Episode 6 saw Hen deciding to get a CT scan from the same spa that they got the call from. Since the spa doesn’t take insurance, Hen can get a scan without anybody knowing.

9-1-1 Season 9 Episode 6 recap: May helps Athena solve a case

Athena got a heartbreaking call from a mother whose daughter had attempted su*c*de after being bullied by her friends. This 9-1-1 Season 9 mid-season finale case turned personal for Athena as she was reminded about May's su*c*de attempt. She gets worried again and calls May over for dinner at her house.

While talking, May gets to know about the case and she assures her mother that she is doing fine. She is regretful of her actions in the past and it was only her mother's face that kept her alive and going. This sparks something in Athena and solves the girl's case. While Athena believed that the girl was being bullied by her friends, it turns out that her own mother was sending her those messages. She even proved it by checking the mother's phone, which contained many messages.
