Yes, Chef! Season 1 Episode 7 aired on Monday, June 9, 2025. The latest episode featured the remaining six chefs divided into two teams for the challenge. For that, they were given a time limit of ten minutes to discuss their meal plan. Later, they went to the pantry to grab the required ingredients.

Both teams discussed their meal plans far from each other, not knowing what the other team would prepare. Later, when they got their ingredients and started cooking, one of the two judges, José Andrés, saw what Chef Petrina Peart was preparing. Seeing her preparations, he reacted:

"Is that katai-fi? Chef Petrina is taking a big risk. If he's done properly, he's crunchy, elegant, fluffy, and light. preparationsIf overcooked or served too cold, then can be a very messy disaster."

Yes, Chef! Episode 7: Remaining cheftestants get started with their next challenge, where they face issues while grabbing the required ingredients

The latest Yes, Chef! episode featured participants preparing their meal plan and then rushing to the pantry to get their ingredients for their dishes.

"Now is the moment of truth. Can you adapt your limitations and create a fantastic three-course lunch for us in a room full of diners?" announced José Andrés.

Listening to him, Yes, Chef!'s Chef Julia felt she was the "weakest link" because it was hard to cook without alliums. Martha Stewart added that they would have ten minutes for planning their meals and then one hour to cook their first course.

There were two teams. First team was: Zain Ismail, Emily Brubaker, and Petrina Peart. The second team had chefs, Julia Chebotar, Lee Frank, and Jake Lawler.

While going through their meal plan, Chef Lee Frank told his teammates:

"Even though we have fish and beef, I think we're the underdogs. Yes. Because I think they're going to naturally assume we should be able to slaughter a menu. So I think balls in their court, we need to take the ball back."

On the other hand, the second team's Petrina said she was "good" at it and that she was "strongest" of them. Chef Zain suggested she prepare a green curry with some mushrooms.

From the first team, Chef Lee was also planning to prepare a dish with scallop with sun-choked puree. He was hoping there would be mushrooms, and if so, he would grab them for his dish.

Later, when everyone went to grab their ingredients, Yes, Chef!'s Chef Zain noticed there was no meat and only vegetables. While quickly grabbing the items, Chef Zain and Chef Lee faced some issues.

"But my hands on something. She's just hitting my hand," he said.

Seeing him grabbing mushrooms after he got the entire meat loaf, Chef Zain reacted:

"Taking the best mushroom when you got meat, huh?"

Later, when they started preparing their dishes, judges Martha Stewart and José Andrés were overseeing the chefs, and he noticed something. He saw Chef Petrina Peart preparing to make kataifi. He told Martha that if kataifi is overcooked or served too cold, it creates a "very messy" disaster.
