Bones follows the story of Temperance Brennan, also known as Bones, played by the incredible Emily Deschanel.
She is primarily an anthropologist who is obsessed with her career and bones, to keep things short. While her on-screen relationship with David Boreanaz's Seeley Booth kept fans hooked on the series for 12 successful seasons, the behind-the-scenes moments that were shared among the cast members are also deeply cherished and often fondly remembered during interviews.
Recently, the Bones cast came together at the Televerse Festival for the Bones: 20th Anniversary Retrospective panel. During the event, David Boreanaz shared how he was one of the primary prank masters on set and how he once pulled off a hilarious prank on Michaela Conlin.

David Boreanaz was the primary brains behind the pranks pulled off during the Bones shooting
During the Bones: 20th Anniversary Retrospect panel that took place during the Televerse Festival earlier this month, David Boreanaz revealed that he was the one who pulled off most of the pranks on set during the shooting of Bones.
Speaking about the pranks, he revealed that they were mostly fart based pranks. Boreanaz said,
"I used to always put a fart machine in the trailers, a whoopee cushion on Michaela [Conlin's] chair." He added, "Oh my God, she was like, ‘David, what?’"
"It was a leather chair, and [Conlin] had jeans on, and it’s like, ‘This is perfect. It’s going to hit. It’s going to rip,’” Boreanaz said.

Adding to this, Tamara Taylor revealed that as time passed by, the prank elevated to the point that her mother sent a fart machine to the set to help Boreanaz. Emily Deschanel also said,
"First it was the whoopee cushion, then we got the fart machine. They were remote-controlled. There were different sounds."
In fact, Hart Hanson revealed that the primary reason for overages during the shooting of Bones was David Boreanaz's infamous fart pranks. This means that almost all of these pranks have been documented.
However, Boreanaz did not limit himself to fart pranks and the cast members. He would prank everybody, including guest actors. One of the most elaborate pranks he pulled was on Luc Robitaille, where instead of his two-line speech, Boreanaz convinced the directors to give him a two-page monologue.
"He's reading his pages, and he's slowly sweating because it's a two-page monologue. And then we go to rehearse, I'm like, ‘Really sorry. Just do the best you can.’ And he starts reading these lines. He's like, 'Oh, f--- this! Boreanaz, you f------ screwed me, man."
All seasons of Bones are available to stream on Disney+ and Peacock.
