ABC’s Abbott Elementary is set to be back with a new season in October 2025.
It is confirmed that Season 5 of Abbott Elementary will release on October 1, 2025. It will air on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time on ABC.
The mockumentary series will bring back the teachers of the elementary public school as they deal with their own lives and also take care of their students. For the new season, creator and star Quinta Bronson has teased that the season will have a fun-filled Halloween and a “game-changer” Christmas episode.

The new season of the ABC series is set to release in the fall season, as the first episode will air on October 1, 2025. It will air at 8:30 p.m. on the ABC Network.
Quinta Bronson will be back as the optimistic teacher, Janine Teagues. Sheryl Lee Ralph's Barbara, Janelle James's Ava, the principal, Tyler James Williams's Gregory, Lisa Ann Walter's Melissa, and Chris Perfetti's Jacob are also expected to join Brusnon in the new season.

Abbott Elementary Season 5: Plot details and more
While there is no trailer or plot details shared for the new Abbott Elementary Season, Brunson teased that they will be seen as attending a live event. As per EW, at SDCC, Brunson shared:
"You can expect us to be filming at a live event."
Later, Deadline revealed that the show filmed during the Phillies game against the Braves, with MLB Studios releasing a statement that reads:
"As big fans of the series, MLB Studios initiated outreach to Warner Brothers and subsequently the Phillies to get the shooting process started. Collaboration between MLB Studios, the Phillies and the show commenced to shoot a bottle episode on-location at a Phillies game, with a goal of ensuring authenticity and access to the field."
Apart from that, Brunson, in another interview with EW, revealed details about the Halloween episode where the filming was done outside of the school. She also talked about the Christmas episode, which might also include a surprising “game changer”.
She said:
"We'll be doing a Halloween and Christmas episode again this season. This Halloween episode is really fun because we're out of the school with this one. It's a joy to have an episode out of the school for the audience, and seeing what Halloween is going to look like now."
She continued:
"For the Christmas episode, we are celebrating more than one thing on Christmas. Our Christmas episode is going to be a game changer. A lot's gonna change after this Christmas episode."
In the same interview, she revealed that the sports episode showcasing the Phillies game would be one of the earlier episodes of the upcoming Season.
