CBS’s superhit sitcom, Ghosts, is set to be back on the screens with a new season this fall.
It is confirmed that Ghosts Season 5 will premiere on Thursday, October 16, 2025. It will air on its previous time slot of 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time on CBS.
It will bring back Utrkarsh Ambudkar and Rose McIver as Jay and Sam as they manage their Woodstone mansion and cohabitate with the ghosts of the house.

Ghosts Season 5: Release date news, time, plot, and streaming details
Just like the previous season, the new season of the beloved sitcom is ready to premiere in the fall. The premiere episode of the series will be released on October 16, 2025, and will air on 8.30 p.m. Eastern Time. It will air on the CBS Network.
Season 5 will explore more of the difficulties the living and the dead of Woodstone mansion go through. It might also focus more on Jay and Elias’s story to reveal if he signed his soul to the ghost from hell.
As per Rotten Tomatoes, the synopsis of the first episode of Ghosts Season 5 reads as follows:
"Sam, Jay and the ghosts attempt to extricate Jay from his deal with Elias Woodstone, the devil; Isaac helps Patience through a crisis of confidence; Pete and Alberta navigate the fallout from their kiss."
In addition, in the new season of Ghosts, Sam and Jay might face challenges while managing their B&B business and the new restaurant named Mahesh.
Ghosts Season 5: Cast and more details
CBS had released a poster for the upcoming season of the fan-favorite series at San Diego Comic Con, which revealed that many of the stellar ensemble cast would be returning to the show.
Apart from Utkarsh and Rose, Devan Chandler Long is expected to return as the aggressive yet melodramatic Viking Ghost, Thor. As per a behind-the-scenes video by Rose McIver, Patience, the mentally unstable puritan ghost played by Mary Holland, is confirmed to return with Matt Walsh’s Elias, Hetty’s husband, and the ghost who collects souls of living as well as dead for the Devil.
Other than them, Brandon Scott Jones’s Captain Isaac, Danielle Pinnock’s Alberta, a lounge singer, Sheila Carrasco’s hippie Susan, Richie Moriarty’s Peter, Rebecca Wisocky’s Lady of the manor, Henrietta, Asher Grodman’s Trevor, are also expected to be seen in the upcoming season 5.
Joe Wiseman and Joe Port have developed the CBS sitcom, which is adapted from the British show with the same name.
