As Foundation Season 3 is nearing its end with just two episodes left to release, let’s look at the finale of Season 2.
The finale is still among the best episodes of the Apple TV series. From being one of the action-packed episodes, it also had numerous new storylines developing and ended several others.
With the three Cleon emperors fighting their different battles, the episode also revealed Demerzel’s possession of the Prime Radiant. Further, the episode also showcased how Hari and Hober made an elaborate plan to defeat Day, to protect whom, Demerzel was ready to sacrifice Dusk.
Here’s what happened in Foundation Season 2 Episode 10.
Foundation Season 2 Episode 10: Hari Seldon and Hober trick Brother Day
In the finale of season 2, Brother Day brings his whole fleet to the Terminus to bring down the Foundation. But by doing this, he easily falls victim to Hari and Hober's plan, who wanted him to do this to destroy his fleet.
Brother Day’s ships are destroyed as the spacers were actually working with Hober. This enrages Cleon, and he begins fighting Hober until Bel Risse steps in. Day tries to kill Riose by launching him into space; however, it is Day who is frozen to death at the end.
His army then stands down after their leader’s defeat. While the ship explodes, Rose saves Constant by taking him to an external cleaning machine. This results in Hari saving brother Constant among all the other inhabitants of Terminus while also saving the Foundation at the end.
Foundation Season 2 Episode 10: Demerzel’s betrayal
In the final episode of Season 2 of the Apple TV series, Brother Dusk and Rue still appear to be stuck. Demerzel’s programming of protecting the Cleons is also revealed with an elaborate plan that she has made to save Brother Day.
Other than this, Demerzel also confesses to many more secrets to Dusk as she tells him that she was the one who sent the Blind Angels, but not to kill, and just scare brother Day. It is also revealed that she manipulated bank records to have Queen Sareth be arrested and executed for treason.
Demerzel then kills off one of the Cleons that she herself had created. However, before dying, Dusk makes sure that Demerzel’s plan fails. He marks the robot with a green mark on her neck, and when brother Dawn notices the mark, he realizes the message that Dusk wanted to send him.
He then rescues Sareth, and the duo flees the planet.
Foundation Season 2 Episode 10: Demerzel creates new Cleons while Salvor sacrifices her life
At the end of Episode 10 of Season 2, Demerzel has to create a new set of Cleons as two of them were dead, while one left the planet. Another important plot point of the finale was Demerzel activating the Prime Radiant, more about which is explored in Season 3, as it is revealed that Demerzel hasn’t deciphered it yet.
Further, after Hari successfully saves everyone in the finale, Gaal’s life is still in danger as Tellem takes over Josiah’s body to kill Gaal. However, Salvor sacrifices herself by taking the shot and saving Gaal’s life.
At the end, Hari and Gaal are put into cryo-sleep to prepare them for their future fight with the Mule. The finale also gives us a glimpse of the Mule for the first time at the very end of the episode, where he appears to be sensing Hari’s presence, 152 years into the future.
