Cho’s Emily was introduced in Season 3 of the medical drama and last appeared in Season 4. No information about Arden Cho’s reason for exiting the show was revealed, while viewers speculated it was most probably because her story came to an end.

Arden Cho’s character, Emily Choi, first appeared in Chicago Med Season 3, Episode 12.

Brian Tee’s Ethan Choi goes to meet his younger sister, whom he has not seen for a long time. As they try to rekindle their complicated relationship, Emily’s struggles begin to appear.

She has been struggling with monetary and gambling issues. In Season 3, her arrival at Ethan’s home brings more dramatic moments within the family. She later begins volunteering as a Nurse in Gaffney Medical Center. However, a shocking twist where she is accused of stealing medicines from the Emergency Department complicates the relationship between brother and sister, as he does not help her.

She then decides to leave Chicago and go to Las Vegas. However, in the finale of Chicago Med Season 3, Ethan learns that his sister never left Chicago and was living with homeless people and had contracted Hepatitis A. She, along with several others, is treated for the disease, and she successfully recovers.

Arden Cho’s Emily had a more complicated storyline in Season 4 of the medical drama. She had been in a relationship with a man named Bernie. Later, April and Ethan discover that Bernie had some secrets up his sleeve.

It is revealed that Bernie had a wife and a daughter, which he did not tell Emily about. However, Ethan finds it perplexing when his sister still decides to be with Bernie and moves to Las Vegas. The season also revealed that Emily was pregnant.

This was the last of Emily’s storyline in the medical drama, as she has not appeared since then. As mentioned, there has been no official statement from the show or the actress regarding why she left, but it is speculated that Emily’s story had come to its logical end.

However, in Season 8 of the NBC drama, April asks Ethan about Emily and her son, Vincent, to which he replies, saying they were doing well. This ensures that the doors remain open for the character to return on-screen.
