Acapulco Season 4 Episode 1 & 2 premiered on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, on Apple TV+. In the present timeline, Maximo teams up with Julia to restore Las Colinas, while telling stories from his past to Memo’s son. The flashbacks pick up three weeks after young Maximo becomes Head of Operations.

He faces trouble with a lime supplier, Don Chavez, and loses his trust after Dulce kidnaps Chavez’s dog. Meanwhile, Vera starts enforcing strict new rules at the resort. When the staff throws Vera a birthday party to win him over, he refuses to budge, sparking a staff-wide walkout.

Maximo’s first major challenge as Head of Operations comes when a meeting with lime supplier Don Chavez goes sideways. Trying to assert control, Maximo speaks condescendingly to Chavez, who ends the partnership on the spot. Dulce, eager to fix things, wrongly assumes leverage means kidnapping Chavez’s dog, Kelly.

Maximo panics once he learns what happened and tries to return the dog quietly. Things get worse when Kelly runs away and ends up with Nemo and Lorena, who are expecting a baby. Maximo eventually retrieves the dog, and when Chavez sees her safe, he assumes Maximo found her.

Chavez softens, and the business deal is restored, and Maximo never admits what really happened. The incident helps him save face and keep the lime supply intact, but also exposes how quickly a leadership misstep can spiral. It also hints that Maximo’s control over his new role is still shaky.

Alejandro Vera introduces a list of new rules at Las Colinas without informing Maximo. These include bans on staff-customer interactions, flirting, free amenities, and other small gestures that had defined the resort’s charm. Chad complains directly to Maximo, pointing out that these policies are hurting morale and alienating guests.

When Hector tries dancing poolside and stops midway to avoid breaking rules, Maximo realizes how serious the situation has become. Worse, Vera has already fired longtime performers Augusto and Adriana without notice. Maximo tries to question the decisions but finds that Vera is ignoring his concerns.

Though Maximo holds the title of Head of Operations, it’s clear Vera intends to use him as a figurehead while maintaining control. The rules take effect immediately, leaving staff confused and demoralized. Chad sets up an open-door policy to listen to complaints, but it’s clear that Vera’s top-down management style is already creating a toxic work environment.

Once Maximo finds out it’s Vera’s birthday, he decides to use the opportunity to improve relations and push back against the new rules. He convinces the staff to throw Vera a Roman Empire-themed party, hoping to soften the owner’s mood and get him to reconsider.

At first, Vera seems indifferent but agrees when he hears about a large guest list and themed costumes. The staff stays overnight to prepare. Julia, Memo, and others join Maximo in planning the party, even though most of them are skeptical about the idea working.

Vera arrives and pretends to enjoy the festivities but doesn’t acknowledge the staff’s effort. When Maximo tries to bring up the new rules again, Vera doubles down and announces overtime pay is canceled. The party backfires. Instead of gaining Vera’s support, the staff realizes how unwilling he is to compromise. Maximo’s plan to win him over ends up triggering more resentment.

After Vera announces that the party work will go unpaid, Maximo walks out of the event in silent protest. One by one, the staff follows, leaving Vera alone at his own birthday celebration. It’s the most direct rebellion against his leadership so far.

In Acapulco Season 4 Episode 1 & 2, Maximo’s decision to walk out signals the breaking point in his effort to balance staff loyalty and boss appeasement. The walkout becomes a full-on strike, with the staff refusing to continue under Vera’s management. As the party collapses, Diane arrives at Las Colinas. She doesn’t make a scene but clearly intends to insert herself back into the hotel’s affairs.

Her presence signals that she’s not done fighting for the place she once owned. While Vera remains unaware of how serious the situation is becoming, Diane’s move sets the stage for an internal power struggle. The episode ends with Maximo and the staff united in opposition.
