"Adorable": Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves reacts to the growing connection between Katherine and Rylie

Big Brother Season 27 host Julie Chen Moonves opened up about housemates Katherine and Rylie in her August 8, 2025, interview with Entertainment Weekly.

She also talked about recent elimination, unexpected turn of events during voting, Vince, Rylie and Katherine's connection, and more. She also shared her thoughts on Mickey choosing Jimmy as the replacement nominee.

Opening up about how close Riley and Katherine have gotten over the past few days, Big Brother host Julie said:

"I think it's adorable. I like that they got to know each other first as friends and got to show each other that their feelings for one another are more important than the game. Rylie was ready to sacrifice his game for Katherine."

In her most recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Julie Chen Moonves shared that Katherine and Rylie's connection was "adorable." As she had seen, Julie mentioned that the two got to know each other as friends first.

Later on, they realized that their feelings were "more important" than the game itself. The show host recalled how Rylie was ready to sacrifice his game and strategy for Katherine.

Sharing her thoughts on the recent elimination from Big Brother, Julie shared her thoughts on Jimmy's eviction. She noted that he wasn't the first housemate who was playing from "more than" one side. Apart from that, multiple housemates were doing that.

Julie mentioned Zach, Vince, and Morgan. As for Jimmy, she got "busted" by Mickey, and it resulted in his elimination.

"He, unfortunately, got busted by Mickey while she had all the power, and he was never given the chance to explain himself or apologize or work out some kind of deal to save his game. It was the perfect storm that did him in more than his overall gameplay," added Julie.

Big Brother fans must remember Jimmy's elimination, and how there was a request from Ashley to change her vote. However, it was denied. Recalling how things unfolded during the elimination process, Julie shared her thoughts about Ashley.

The show host mentioned that Ashley might be one of the housemates who:

"Responds to whoever is the last one to have her ear. Ashley's conversation in the hall with Will after she already voted to evict Kelley influenced her decision, and then she tried to change it. Too late. We didn't count her change of heart."

Julie Chen Moonves added that her request to change her vote wasn't entertained. She noted that housemates should play their "own games." Before casting their votes, housemates were given time to decide whom they were going to vote for. It was after the final two nominees were announced.

Further in her interview, Julie talked about Vince being "universally liked" and why Mickey nominated Jimmy.
