Paramount+ recently greenlit NOLA King, a spin-off of Tulsa King, starring Samuel L. Jackson . The show comes from executive producer Taylor Sheridan, who already has several acclaimed projects under his name, including Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, and Landman.
Actor Andy García, who recently returned to television with Landman, has now expressed his interest in being a part of NOLA King as well. In an interview with Collider, the Academy Award-nominated actor said he is ready to star in the Tulsa King spin-off, which is expected to be filmed in New Orleans next year:
“No. I mean, listen, as an actor, to be involved in the kind of writing that he puts out is a privilege, you know. So I’m sure if he has another idea for me, I’d be happy to be a part of. I know he’s got, I heard he’s doing one now in Nola — in New Orleans. Yeah, let’s go to New Orleans. I’m ready.”
Andy García wants to star in NOLA King
Andy García made an entry into the Sheridanverse with Paramount+’s Landman earlier this year. The actor was seen playing the character of cartel boss Galino in the series finale and is expected to have a major role in the upcoming second season. While he is interested in starring in NOLA King, only Samuel L. Jackson is currently confirmed to appear in the show.
The Tulsa King spin-off revolves around a crime lord who operates from New Orleans, similar to Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight "the General" Manfredi. Jackson’s character, Russell Lee Washington Jr., will be introduced in the upcoming third season of Tulsa King. NOLA King is being created by Dave Erickson and will reportedly begin filming in February 2026.
Coming back to Andy García, the actor’s cameo in Landman was one of the highlights of the show. In the season 1 finale, Galino killed his own cartel’s men to save the lead, Tommy Norris, and offered to team up with him.
Billy Bob Thornton, who plays Tommy in Landman, previously revealed how Andy’s introduction will impact the narrative of the second season. He said in an interview with Los Angeles Times:
“The greatest thing about the finale, in terms of my part in it is that Tommy is facing the rest of his life. He is facing very serious reflection and having to examine his philosophical beliefs, who he is and how he fits into this world. He also introduced Andy Garcia’s character. It’s the calm before the storm, and there’s already been the storm.”
Andy García is a veteran actor who has starred in films like The Godfather Part III, Ocean's Eleven, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, and New York, I Love You. On television, he has been a part of the shows Rebel, Flipped, and Modern Love.
