Disney+'s Ahsoka Season 1 ended with a shocking reveal where Anakin Skywalker was shown on the extragalactic world of Peridea as a force ghost.

Throughout the first season, he helped Ahsoka remember her passion for being a Jedi by showing her past from the Clone Wars and bringing her into the World between Worlds.

However, in the finale, he becomes a Force ghost and looks over Tano and her apprentice, Sabine Wren.

With Hayden Christensen confirmed to reprise his Anakin Skywalker character in Ahsoka Season 2 and Tano going on a journey related to the mysterious Mortis gods, this upcoming Star Wars installment might expand on the role of force ghosts.

More on this in our story.

Ahsoka Season 2 might expand the scope of Force Ghosts in Star Wars

The reveal of Anakin Skywalker as a Force ghost is still one of the most shocking bits from the Season 1 finale, which set the stage for a dramatic Season 2.

While Force ghosts are a regular occurrence in Star Wars, as they are the manifestations of a deceased Jedi who preserved their consciousness even after death, the upcoming Star Wars installment might go beyond established rules.

The majority of the things and rules around Force ghosts are kept ambiguous in the canon, which makes it difficult to set limits on Force ghosts.

However, from past events, it is established that Force ghosts have some limitations when it comes to key events, as Obi-Wan's Force ghost warned Luke when he wanted to confront Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back.

In addition, it was also established that Force ghosts can interact with their physical environment, when Yoda's Force ghost made a tree at Ahch-To catch fire in The Last Jedi.

Since Force ghosts are equipped with such powers, a Chosen One Force ghost, such as Anakin Skywalker, might go beyond limitations in Ahsoka Season 2.

After that reveal in Ahsoka Season 1 and Christensen's return in Season 2, it is confirmed that Anakin Skywalker will have a much bigger role in the second chapter.

If that becomes the case, Anakin might become the first Force ghost to directly interfere in key events and go beyond the established limits in Star Wars canon. In addition, the tease of the Mortis Gods, the cosmic beings who control the Force (and debuted during Clone Wars), might finally be revealed in the upcoming chapter.

Anakin Skywalker came very close to replacing the father and thus keeping the balance between the Dark and the light side, which might be fulfilled in Season 2.

In addition, Anakin Skywalker's guidance to Ahsoka and her apprentice also feels like one of the main highlights of the upcoming chapter, which will again push the idea of the Force ghost going beyond limitations.

Discussing his role in the sophomore season, Christensen revealed to IGN:

"I love this character. I would love the chance to continue to explore Anakin's story some more and hopefully do the Darth Vader timeline a little bit more too. I think there are more stories there to be told."
