Milo comes home
The episode opens with Milo escaping from the trunk of a car. Marissa and Peter rush to the police, only to find their son waiting for them. The reunion gets overwhelming, but Milo has no memory of being abducted. He thinks he was on vacation with Carrie and goes on to ask about her cheerfully. The room is silent immediately.
Detectives Greco and Alcaras examine Milo carefully. He displays no signs of harm, and they inquire about Carrie. Milo only recalls eating Fruit Loops for breakfast. He cannot identify who drove him anywhere. He just recalls being in the car's truck, which was moving rapidly.
Marissa fails to understand why the kidnappers gave Milo back, and journalists swarm the family outside the station. Marissa and Peter take Milo home quickly while ignoring all the questions thrown at them.
Peter's hidden ransom call in All Her Fault
Marissa looks for an old baby monitor and finds a bag full of cash. It sits hidden among Peter's belongings. She confronts him about the bag, and Peter finally admits that he received a ransom call.
But he never paid anything, and the caller never contacted him again. The information makes Marissa explode with rage. As Peter justifies his actions, stating that he did it to protect the family, his excuses begin to wear thin with each individual.
That moment is when the detectives call and inform that they have found a dead man at the motel. His name was Rob Murphy, who worked as a bookie. Alcaras asks if Marissa recognizes him.
Peter stands close to Marrisa and begs her not to tell the police about the money. Marissa lies to the detectives, saying everything is fine, despite it not being the case for her.
The truth about Carrie in All Her Fault
All Her Fault takes a dramatic turn as the detectives track down Rob's ex-wife. She lives in the South Shore neighbourhood, the same neighbourhood Kyle and Carrie hail from. The woman they find looks familiar, as they're reminded of someone who refused to interact with them outside the company.
This time, as she cooperates, a shocking truth is revealed. Rob Murphy was Carrie's father. Everything suddenly makes more sense, and the pieces start falling into place.
Marissa reviews the company files after speaking with Alcaras. She worries Colin might have known Rob. He was a bookie at the end of the day. She spots suspicious activity in client accounts, insinuating that Colin might also have been involved in the kidnapping. The thought scares her completely.
Colin's gambling problem
Peter calls Lia to warn her, but she and Colin are already on their way to come over. Lia opens the door casually, and the new security alarms go off. Brian shuts them down fast.
Marissa confronts Colin about everything, and he admits to his gambling relapse. He promises to sell his home to use the money to cover the missing funds. Marissa demands more answers from him.
