It has been three years since the confirmation of All of Us Are Dead Season 2, and there is still no update regarding the release date. The Korean zombie series took the world by storm with its compelling story that combines elements of teen drama, horror, and survival suspense.

As seen in the first season, chaos ensued when a science experiment at Hyosan High School went terribly wrong and birthed a new virus known as the Jonas virus. It began turning students into zombies and spread into the local communities surrounding the school.

With everyone turning into flesh-eating zombies, the remaining students tried to survive the nightmare as best they could. Sadly, only a few made it out alive, and a few became halfbies, and eventually the government gained control over the situation.

Now, with the next season on the horizon, fans are buzzing with theories about what’s next. Will the virus return? What secrets are still buried beneath the surface? And how will Nam-ra and the mysterious hambies shape the future of this terrifying world?

As we await All of Us Are Dead Season 2, here are three big questions the show must answer:

1) What role will Nam-ra and the halfbies play in All of Us Are Dead Season 2

At the end of Season 1, Nam-ra admitted that there are others like her - people who are infected, but still have their human mind, what she calls hambies. These half-zombie, half-human possess enhanced physical characteristics, yet still retain their human minds.

Nam-ra chose to distance herself from her friends because she felt she could not control her new impulses. However, when she returned, Namra had a better grasp of her condition and even surprised her friends with her newly developed strengths.

All of Us Are Dead Season 2 will be able to explore more about the existence and the lives of hambies. Beyond individuals, they could become the story as a new community and faction. And Nam-ra might emerge as their leader, with the responsibility of protecting those similar to her.

However, their existence also places them in a precarious position, as they may be targeted by the military or other groups seeking to study or eliminate them due to their potential threat or as a means to develop a cure.

2) Is the Jona virus truly contained?

Although the immediate outbreak in Hyosan seems to have been quelled, the nature of the Jonas virus raises concerns about its containment. The virus mutated in Season 1 and evolved, resulting in hambies.

Furthermore, the source of the virus, as described in the webtoon, implies a bigger picture and alludes to the potential of the virus expanding beyond South Korea. It ends with a fisherman in Japan getting bitten, which implies that the virus is in international waters.

All of Us Are Dead Season 2 may explore the ability of the virus to spread further to states and regions beyond the immediate outbreak zone. It should also reveal whether surrounding governments and organizations are responding in the face of new threats.

3) What is the government's plan about halfbies and the virus?

The government's reaction to the outbreak in Season 1 has been seen to take extreme action, even bombing Hyosan High altogether to make sure the virus did not spread further. While this may have benefited the government for the time being, it raises major ethical and political dilemmas, of course.

The government was willing to imprison certain people like Eun-ji, an asymptomatic person, and arguably may have thought of even conducting tests on them. This points to the fact that the military was already averse to considering any moral perspective in the search for a solution.

In All of Us Are Dead Season 2, we may get a better perspective of what the government has been doing and if they still believe that the hambies are threats, a potential cure, or a weapon. There is even the distinct possibility that they may have been trying to weaponise the virus for military purposes.
