"Amazing": Perfect Match star Rachel Recchia recalls her first date with Freddie

Perfect Match star Rachel Recchia opened up about her first date with Freddie in her August 5, 2025, appearance on The Viall Files podcast.

While speaking with co-hosts Nick Viall and Natalie Joy, Rachel discussed being on Perfect Match, her first date with Freddie, seeing Clayton there, and more. She also talked about how she was approached by the platform and joined the reality show.

She also shared her thoughts on seeing Clayton on the show and her views on Freddie and Madison's connection in the house. Reflecting on her first date on the Netflix show, Rachel talked about Freddie.

"I was very lucky. That was an amazing first date. I saw him, like, Oh, thanks. That was great."

The Viall Files Reality Recap's August 5, 2025 episode saw Rachel. Fans might know her from The Bachelor and Netflix's Perfect Match Season 3.

As Nick welcomed Rachel on the podcast, she said she was scared. When Natalie asked the reason, she said it was because they were "tough" and that they were going to talk some "sh*t."

Rachel opened up about how the platform approached her for Perfect Match.

"It was crazy. I like the show. I've watched seasons one and two, and I was watching the second season, and I got a call from my team. They were like would you take an interview. I was like, how, like, I'm not on Netflix."

She learned that the platform was casting participants from outside, for the first time. So she wanted to be a part of it.

Rachel added she thought it would be "fresh and fun."

"I wasn't going to bring a Bachelorette reputation into it."

Later, when she asked about Clayton being on Perfect Match, Rachel said Freddie had told her about him. Fans must remember that Freddie was sent on a date with her, and after that, she entered the house in the show.

"Freddie told me. And he played it so cool. We were on our date and he goes, Oh, like The Bachelor, like, whose season were you on. And I'm like, Oh, Clayton. And he just goes, All right. And then he like slowly told me, he's like, I just want to let you know, when you walk in there, he's (Clayton's) there.

Podcast co-host Nick mentioned Freddie was hot and that Rachel went on a date with him. Rachel mentioned how amazing her date with Freddie went. Listening to that, Nick said that from a viewer's perspective, it seemed as if Rachel was more interested in Clayton pursuing her than Freddie.

She said she was shocked watching the show now. Nick asked if Freddie was "afraid" of Madison, his connection in the Perfect Match. Rachel replied, he was not afraid, but he wanted to "give it a shot."

He wanted to see how his connection with Madison would turn out. Hence, after Freddie shared that with Rachel, she decided not to pursue her connection with him.
