American Idol Season 23 Episode 17 aired on Sunday, May 11, 2025. The remaining Top 7 finalists arrived at the Disneyland Resort. For the Disney Night, participants delivered two performances each. While they performed, the audience voted for their favorite contestants.
It also featured a special guest, Lin-Manuel Miranda. The upcoming episode of the reality show will reveal the Top 5 voted by America. They will advance to the next phase of the show.

American Idol Season 23 Episode 17 Recap: The Top 7 artists deliver two performances
The Disney Night No. 1 episode of American Idol Season 23 started with Gabby Samone's How Far I'll Go from Moana. Carrie felt it was a "really great" performance, while Lionel stated he loved her performance. Jamal Roberts, 27, performed Hercules' Go the Distance, which Lionel said he had an "ability."
Texan native Breanna Nix performed Mulan's Reflection.
"I was fighting back tears. You just look like you belong exactly where you are," said Carrie.
Lionel mentioned Breanna's poise and grace, while Luke felt she was "always in total control."
The next performance was by John Foster. He sang The Princess and the Frog's Almost There.
"Charisma, charisma, charisma. That's why you're still in this thing, and that's why you're almost there," said Luke Bryan.
Lionel mentioned it was amazing.
Slater Nalley, 18, performed The Lion King's Can You Feel the Love Tonight, which everyone appreciated. Lionel stated Slater Nalley was a "storyteller." Mattie Pruitt was next with her rendition of Remember Me by Coco. Carrie mentioned that her performance was a reminder of why Mattie was there.
"I am so amazed. You've grown up. I'm loving this new you," said Lionel Richie.
Thunderstorm Artis, 29, performed Pocahontas' Colors of the Wind. Carrie Underwood stated that it was her favorite arrangement of the night and that she was about to cry. Luke mentioned he was immersed in the moment.
Following these performances by the Top 5 artists, they also delivered their second performance. It was the Mother's Day tribute.
