Disney revealed that the creation of Andor cost over $705M, making it the most expensive Star Wars title ever

The Star Wars franchise has seen immense success on the silver screen, making it one of the most popular franchises to exist. However, the same cannot be said about the franchise's success in terms of television shows.

The first Star Wars show that was created, The Mandalorian, followed the story of the bounty hunter as he is assigned the task of protecting the little green alien, Grogu. The show saw a lot of success, winning a 93% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

However, after the success of The Mandalorian, there was not much success in terms of TV shows, be it the following seasons of The Mandalorian or the next show, The Acolyte.

The only show that showed the same promise as The Mandalorian was Andor, which premiered its first season back in 2022. The show is set at a time five years before the timeline of the original story of Star Wars, and follows Diego Luna's Cassian Andor as he joins the Rebels as they take on the Empire, led by Darth Vader.

The first season of the show saw so much success that it got renewed for a second season. However, the second season took three years to come into being after the end of the first, and this was largely owing to the writers' strike and the actors' strike that took place in 2023.

While the second season was also loved by fans all over the world, it was also confirmed that this season of Andor, which was released back in April this year, is the final and concluding season of the show.

Both seasons of Andor are available to stream on Disney Plus.
