The Filipino rom-com, Ang Mutya ng Section E, has become a global hit, thanks to the incredible performance by the entire cast and a faithful adaptation of the popular Wattpad novel. Central to the drama is Jay-Jay, played by Ashtine Olviga.
The series kicks off with Jay-Jay transferring to HVIS and ending up being the only girl in Section E, known for having the school's most notorious boys. As the story continues, Jay-Jay becomes the star of her class, gathering all the love from her classmates.
However, it's Yuri and Keifer who eventually fall for Jay, and the three find themselves in a love triangle. Although Yuri softly expressed his feelings and even became her fiancée due to family pressure, it’s Keifer whose actions truly resonate with Jay‑Jay in Ang Mutya ng Section E Season 1.
In the last episode, Keifer confesses his love in an elevator and ends with a passionate kiss, which inspires Jay-Jay to follow her heart. Thanks to Ashtine Olviga and Andres Muhlach, as their chemistry in the series has gone viral all over the world.

Yuri is charming, but a red flag in Ang Mutya ng Section E

Yuri Hanamitchi, played by Rabin Angeles, is one of the main characters in Ang Mutya ng Section E, who, despite being a red flag, has earned a soft place in fans' hearts. He's charming and even becomes a close friend to Jay-Jay and develops feelings for her.
However, it was Yuri who told Keifer that Jay-Jay might be spying in Section E for Aries, leading Keifer to plot against her. Not only this, Yuri observed that Keifer had abandoned his plan to throw Jay out of the section and was developing feelings for her.
He often felt jealous of his own friend when he saw Keifer with Jay, and didn't care if kissing Jay during the school fest might hurt Keifer. He never even told Keifer what he did, and his sudden move caught Jay completely off guard.
At the Christmas party, his protection towards Jay turns possessive as Yuri sets up his engagement with Jay, while pretending that he didn't know about it either. Jay-Jay felt pressurized as the engagement was the only way her family business would survive, and Yuri used it cleverly.
These actions show that while Yuri had sincere feelings for Jay in Ang Mutya ng Section E, they were tangled with his own doubts. Instead of freeing her, he has made things hard for Jay.

Keifer genuinely cares for Jay-Jay in Ang Mutya ng Section E
One thing that makes Keifer a perfect match for Jay-Jay is that he never forced her to love him. Jay was fascinated by his actions and genuine care in Season 1, ultimately falling in love with him.
However, she kept her feelings hidden as her aunt didn't want Jay to have a relationship at the moment, as it could distract her. However, she knew that Keifer loves her as well and confessed to feeling safe around him.
Unlike Yuri, Keifer never pushed his feelings onto Jay. He waited patiently for her, right till the end. Even in the final moments of the series, he asked if she had feelings for Yuri, showing that what mattered most to Keier was how Jay truly felt, not just what he wanted.
After confessing his love, Keifer promised Jay to fight for her, even though she's engaged to Yuri now. Now that Jay has finally accepted his feelings, things are going to get dark in Ang Mutya ng Section E Season 2.
As of now, there's no official date for the upcoming season. So, till Season 2 arrives, fans can tune in to another upcoming hit Wattpad TV adaptation, Seducing Drake Palma, with Rabin Angeles and Angela Muji as the leading couple.
