If you think Yuri or Freya are the most problematic in Ang Mutya ng Section E (The Jewel of Section E), think again. The real red flag has been hiding all along in Season 1, and fans will get to know more about her in the upcoming Season 2.

Ang Mutya ng Section E has become one of the biggest hit Filipino series, based on a Wattpad best-selling novel. The story is brought to the screen by the Viva One Studio, which is also set to release Seducing Drake Palma featuring Rabin Angeles (Yuri) on June 15, 2025.

The story kicked off with Jasper "Jay-Jay" Mariano Fernadez getting expelled from her school, and ending up as a transferee in HVIS. The school, known for its elite students, is filled with dark secrets.

However, when it comes to Section E, it's best known for being dominated by the school's most rowdy and chaotic boys. And the twist? Jay-Jay gets transferred to the very section, thanks to her past actions in the previous school.

After entering the section, Jay-Jay becomes everyone's favorite, including Keifer, but there's someone who's secretly hating her like no one. And as I mentioned before, it's not Freya. Then who?

Who is the biggest red flag in Ang Mutya ng Section E?

Viewers have quickly identified Yuri Hanamichi and Freya Hidalgo as the most controversial characters in Ang Mutya ng Section E. Discussions have undoubtedly been sparked by Yuri's mysterious personality and complex feelings, as well as Freya's past relationship with Keifer, followed by her evil plans.

Although these two aren't pure, another character's actions subtly introduce a more sinister thread into the story. Someone whose danger comes wrapped in sweetness and smiles. Sound familiar?

Yes, I'm talking about Ella. The character who knows exactly how to play the part of the angel, while subtly pulling all the strings. Ella was once a Section E student who got into a love triangle between Keifer and Yuri.

In the end, Ella chose Keifer despite her feelings for Yuri. The worst part, now she has gotten involved with Jay-Jay's cousin, Aries, after getting transferred into Section A. Ella is clearly jealous of Jay as she probably didn't want Yuri to get engaged to Jay, and that's why she questioned Keifer about how he is letting Jay-Jay go in the finale episode.

Ella is the most jealous girl in Ang Mutya ng Section E Season 1

The beginning of Ella's jealousy, which is revealed through subdued manipulation rather than drama, is one of the most illuminating scenes in Ang Mutya ng Section E. She appears to be Mica's closest friend and is always by her side.

However, Ella secretly finds it unbearable that Jay Jay is doing what she was unable to: reuniting Mica and Calix. Jay Jay was merely attempting to assist Mica in reestablishing her feelings for Calix. Naturally, Jay Jay became admired in Section E for his genuine concern for Mica's best interests as well as his support.

Mica even started to get closer to her. But instead of being happy for her friend, Ella saw it as a threat. Not wanting Jay Jay to shine or be seen as the better friend, Ella stepped in. Not to help, but to sabotage.

She approached Jay Jay, pretending to be concerned, and began lying about Calix, calling him a bad influence and claiming he would hurt Mica. But it wasn’t about protecting anyone. It was jealousy, plain and simple. Ella couldn’t handle someone else being praised for doing what she herself failed to do.

She also confessed to Aries that she "hates" Jay-Jay as she took away her best friends from Section E, including Ci-N. She didn't help to prove Ci-N's innocence in stealing money either, but complained that the boys no longer treated her like before.

The worst part? Ella is expected to leave Aries in Ang Mutya ng Section E Season 2 and tell Yuri that she actually liked him instead of Keifer. So, while Ella might look like an angel, she isn't one.
