Apple TV has officially greenlit Safe Houses, a television adaptation of Dan Fesperman’s 2018 novel of the same name. The spy thriller series is being created by Gideon Raff, who is already known for his work in the espionage genre, as he wrote and directed the French-English series The Spy.The upcoming show revolves around the murder of a high-ranking CIA officer stationed in Madrid, Spain. The Emmy Award-winning filmmaker is well-known for creating the Israeli series Prisoners of War, which was later adapted into Showtime’s Homeland. Raff has also worked on shows like The Spy, Tyrant, and Dig. In 2019, he wrote and directed the Netflix spy thriller film The Red Sea Diving Resort, starring the likes of Chris Evans, Michael K. Williams, and Ben Kingsley.Raff will also serve as the showrunner and an executive producer of Safe Houses. The rest of the executive producers include Alexandra Milchan, Paul Lee, and David Flynn, while Mike Seid and Adam Berkowitz will co-executive produce the project.
