Bad Influencer is an upcoming South African series that seems to be the perfect mix of drama, thrill, and emotions. The show revolves around a woman who sells counterfeit luxury bags to fend for her son, who has special needs.
When she is unable to repay the debt she had taken from loan sharks, she teams up with an up-and-coming social media influencer to sell fake bags online. However, the two soon find themselves involved with the criminal mafia.

Netflix has confirmed the release date of Bad Influencer as Friday, October 31, 2025. All the episodes of the show will be available to stream at the same time. The series will be launched not only in South Africa but in international markets as well. Netflix traditionally releases new content at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET.

The storyline of Bad Influencer
The show tells the story of BK, a single mother going through a financial crunch. She turns into a con artist and starts selling cheap copies of luxury handbags. But when she is burdened by debt and comes across a wannabe influencer named Pinky, she collaborates with her to sell the fake bags online and dupe people.
However, the two soon get on the radar of the authorities as well as Bra Alex, a criminal lord. They then have to work together to continue the scheme while trying to protect themselves from going to prison. The official synopsis of the show reads:
“When a small-time con artist and single mom, BK, must provide for her son with special needs, she teams up with wannabe luxury influencer Pinky to sell fake luxury handbags online. Their scheme draws the attention of Bra Alex, a notorious criminal in a counterfeiting syndicate, as well as law enforcement. Caught between criminals and cops, the unlikely duo must outfox both to stay out of jail, survive, and thrive.”

Jo-Anne Reyneke stars in the lead role of BK. The actress has previously appeared in The Estate, High Rollers, Isidingo, and Black Tax. Cindy Mahlangu plays the influencer, Pinky. She is known for playing Siyanda Dlamini on The Queen and Zandi J in Soft Love. Silverton Siege fame Vincent Mahlape portrays Bra Alex in Bad Influencer.
