Almost a decade since their last project, the new K-drama "Genie, Make a Wish" has been confirmed to feature the reunion of Bae Suzy and Kim Woo-bin. It's an anticipated mix of romance, fantasy, and comedy.

It will come out during Korea's Chuseok holiday and has already become one of the most anticipated K-dramas on Netflix this year. Fans adore Bae Suzy for her hit roles in series like While You Were Sleeping, Start-Up, and more.

She is joined by another South Korean A-lister, Kim Woo-bin, who quickly gained popularity with his role as Cho Young-so in The Heirs alongside Park Shin-hye and Lee Min-ho. What's even more interesting is that Woo-bin and Suzy had previously shared screen in the 2016 drama, Uncontrollably Fond.

And now, the stars have again taken up the lead roles, but quite different from the characters they've played so far. In Genie, Make a Wish, Woo-bin will appear as a Genie, a spirit that many know from the famous story of Aladdin.

Fortunately, fans won't have to wait months to watch this new K-drama because Genie, Make a Wish is coming out on October 3, 2025. This also means that when the show releases, international fans will be able to enjoy the Bae Suzy and Kim Woo-bin drama live, along with South Korean fans.

There is no official update yet on whether the series will be available on other streaming platforms like Viki, Rakuten, and more. So, make sure you have a Netflix subscription to watch Genie, Make a Wish.

While Kim Woo-bi has taken the male lead role of Genie/Jinn, Bae Suzy will be seen as Ga-young, the heroin of the story. Unlike typical stories, where the spirit is full of energy, Woo-bin's Genie has been sleeping for a long time, and when he wakes up, he finds himself overflowing with emotions.

Suzy's Ga-young is the one who wakes him, but just like the spirit, she's also guarded with emotions. However, to keep the story engaging, the makers have kept the number of wishes to be granted to just three.

The series is expected to take a turn when it's revealed that Genie a Satan. Per Tudum by Netflix, "It’s a whole new twist on the genie-in-a-lamp story" because the spirit never turned out to be evil in the original story.

As for the cast, the lead actors are joined by Ahn Eun-jin, Steve Noh, Ko Kyu-pil, and Lee Joo-young. The project is just as impactful behind the camera, with Lee Byeong-Hun and Ahn Gil-Ho, both respected names in the industry, at the helm.

The script is by Kim Eun-Sook, one of South Korea's most recognized screenwriters, and the author of major hits like Song Hye-kyo's The Glory, Gong-yoo's Goblin, and Lee Min-ho's The King: Eternal Monarch.
