The decision behind making The Judge from Hell Season 2 is no secret—the numbers and accolades speak for themselves. Over its seven-week run on SBS, the show consistently pulled in passionate viewers.

The show peaked with a nationwide top rating of 11.9%, and an even higher rating of 14.7% in key metropolitan cities, not only making it the most-watched drama in the time slot but the most watched program on Saturday, and for the week that it aired.

Park Shin-hye's drama has also generated excitement overseas. It won a major award from the New York Festival. This not only legitimized creative risk-taking but also added to the international appeal of the show. The critical recognition contributed to the momentum of the fan campaign wanting a second season.

Following the recognition at the New York Festival, the series's showrunner said:

"We'll be back soon with Season 2. As long as the law in unfair, the judge from the hell will never stop. Thanks again."

Director Park Jin-pyo mentioned in a last year interview with OSEN, that the possibility of a second season was something that would "take time to think about." Despite his caution, The Judge from Hell Season 2 confirmation followed shortly afterward, thanks to the show's widespread popularity and unfinished storyline.

In the final episode of The Judge from Hell, Bit-na reaches her last and ultimate target, Tae-gyu, a serial killer who murdered several people in horrific ways. She creates several hallucinations to make him feel the pain he inflicted on his victims.

Eventually, Bit-na kills him and sends his soul to hell, fulfilling her task. After completing her task, she's called back to Hell. However, an angel named Gabriel intervenes and asks Bael to give Bit-na more time.

Bael says yes and gives Bit-na another three years to live on earth and be among humans. Season 1 finishes with Bit-na as a judge in a small coastal town. Han Da-on goes to visit her and expresses his wish to be closer to her.

While they are enjoying the moment, Bit-na gets a call notifying her that she is being transferred back to Seoul, suggesting new beginnings. This open ending set the perfect stage for a continuation, and The Judge from Hell Season 2 is expected to dive deeper into the consequences of that final moment.

While the makers haven't revealed what's in store for Bit-na in The Judge from Hell Season 2, fans can expect to dive back into the thrill that made Season 1 a big hit. There’s also room for new characters, expanded world-building, and deeper exploration of Bit-na’s powers and personal struggles.

In the meantime, Park Shin-hye isn’t slowing down. She’s already lined up a new drama titled Chair Time, where she’ll play a skilled dental hygienist and consultant. But with The Judge from Hell Season 2 now in the pipeline, fans can look forward to seeing her step back into one of her most intense roles yet.
